If we get an beast MLB to quarterback that side of the ball and run sideline to sideline with Smith and Luvu..Look tf out. This defense will be Elite for years.

As long as we replace woods and sorry ass CJ.

We could also use a stud DT to pair with Derrick Brown. Maybe Nixon will fill that role in time. He’s similar in size to Ionnadis but younger.

Maybe we’ll also get a chance to develop Kenny Robinson into a eventual starting FS. We have decent depth there as of now. Otherwise, we’re set.

Even in his rookie season he played the majority of his snaps in the secondary.

He was a safety drafted to play safety who covered deficiencies at LB out of necessity. It wasn't sime wild weird strategy to play him at safety.

Call the position whatever you like (SS, OLB, etc), the bottom line is that he was up around the LOS much more his rookie year than he was last year and has been this year. Chinn needs to be close to the ball to maximize his skills, not playing center field.

I agree with everything you say minus getting rid of Woods. He has been making plays. Hands of stone but always around the ball.

    • Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is putting the league on notice early into his NFL career, and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is well aware.  “I think he’s a stud,” Shanahan told reporters Thursday. “He’s going to be one of the best receivers in this league sooner than later. He’s got all the skill sets to do it, and I think he’s just getting started.”  Through 11 games played, McMillan has racked up 748 receiving yards on 54 receptions. He ranks sixth in the NFL in receiving yards and leads all rookies in the category.  Carolina selected McMillan as the No. 8 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. San Francisco had the 11th overall pick.  Did the receiver out of Arizona catch Shanahan’s eye in draft preparation?  “Yeah, big time,” Shanahan said.  Shanahan also said that he thought the receiver would be taken well ahead of the 49ers’ draft position, but the team did their due diligence when scouting the best overall draft picks in the 2025 class. With McMillan off the board, San Francisco ended up selecting defensive end Mykel Williams with the 11th pick to bolster its defensive line. https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/kyle-shanahan-tetairoa-mcmillan/1893558/
    • Koochie is playing his best hockey yet so far but it’s a small sample size
    • In basically every win but Atlanta he's had 2-3 plays that were a big deal but he also was part of why we needed those 2-3 plays instead of just cruising.
