Rams Offering Two (Future) Firsts for Burns

Recommended Posts

I’m on the fence

Yeah I’d love the two first rounders but then I see sh!t like this…

Plus I remember how long it took us to find our LT and think I don’t really want to do it all over with a pass rusher

Use all our assets for a QB this offseason and go

By YOU saying "F150s", YOU are saying that people don't want Burns because he is black. That might be the most ignorant take ever.

Actually I think the current Super Bowl Champs are better judges of talent than this board that truly does consist of a lot of f150s, you're too dense to understand that bc of course you are

If the picks weren't far off I would be more inclined to heavily consider the offer. But either way I'm just a fan and I'll let it play out and roll with the results. But I can tell you one fuging thing. I'll be here to remind the folks bitching about the losing because there will be bitching.

 OOU, OOU  LOL

It's not because the people making trades have their jobs based on if they win or not.

That’s why future picks are valued less.

A GM isn’t valuing a 1st two years from now as high as a 1st this year, because 4 years down the road when the player picked is developed and playing well, it is highly likely a new coach and front office are the ones benefitting from it.

Yes but why would we as fans value them differently? Cause there are fans on this board making that argument. And that is stupid.

Keep the TB in the TB, I get it I get it

The LA Rams are better judges of talent than any chud here though, that's a fact.

Burns is a Panther for life

He doesn't produce.

Lathon Peppers Greene Hardy Johnson Reddick were all better than Burns.

He always disappears in crunch time.

He's not a big time player. He just isn't.

If he was Lamar Lathon I'd almost cut someone for mentioning a trade.

But he isn't.  I've never even seen him put a kill shot on anyone. He's soft.

This year's QB class is looking to be historically bad... Pickett is a turnover machine ala Bortles and Willis can't complete a pass, meanwhile we got one of the best LT in the NFL already....I'd say they made the right decision kicking the can another year

2020... Neither Fields or Mac Jones (or Wilson...or Lance) look to be great QB's.

Yea, last year’s class was bad, I didn’t really like any of them in the 1st. I was good with Corral or Howell in the mid rounds. And the year before, I’m glad we didn’t fall for the Fields trap, the only QBs I liked there were Lawrence and Wilson. Time will tell for them but they went to historically bad teams, especially for QBs. This year however, we need to get our QB. Not next year, not years down the road. This year.

No what you said is stupid logic.  Who know what happens in 2025? You don't value potential which can vary from a number 1 pick to a number 32 pick the same as a proven commodity. Burns cost us a top 10 pick and has been everything we thought he would be.  He has stayed healthy and is the best DE we have.  Future picks are always valued less than current picks and should be.  While we aren't a player or two away we also don't need a complete rebuild. He is a core of the defense and teams gameplan against him. That is worth more than what we could get years from now.

No. This is stupid lmao. If em this were true, we would trade our 3rd for a future 1st two years from now every single year and in two years become the greatest dynasty in NFL history because we would have two 1st round picks every single season. You see how illogical this is? Lol

LOL you are unintelligent (and exactly the type of f150 I was talking about)

So draft Anderson or Myles in 2023.  They will make an impact right away.  Then we have 4 first rounders in 2024-2025 to move around and get our franchise QB.  It provides tremendous flexibility to get the guy we want.

What if Young starts falling due to size concerns.  We would have quite a bit of ammunition between our seconds and 4 future firsts to make something happen (if he is our guy).

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
