Where is the "drooling"? You're imagining stuff. Simply saying Baker looks significantly better after barely over a day in L.A. isn't drooling, it's just acknowledging reality.

I mean Baker had a stat line of like 18-30 155 yards and 3 points at the time you commented about how jealous you are of how LA’s coaches are using him. That kinda QB play has basically been our norm for the past 3 years lol.

But damn okay Baker earned his accolades on that last drive. I guess y’all really manifested some kind of self-fulfilling prophecy…props.

I really wanted to see this Baker in Carolina. Like, a lot.

This just shows once again how bad Rhule was. He was here for 2.5 years, but he set the team back a decade.

But let me just say this, possibly the hottest of takes:

This could be Darnold. He played for Gase and Rhule. That's it. For all we know, with a competent coach and an OC who can scheme for our QB, it's possible the answer is on the roster.

If that seems improbable, remember Baker has the worst QBR in football with the Panthers. He was 1-5. We were debating in this very forum if he was as bad as pickles; if he was our worst QB ever.

With 2 days on a staff with an actual NFL coach, he learns an offense well enough to lead a 95 yard game winning drive.

Honestly, when it comes to evaluating QBs, throw our EVERYTHING you have seen in the Matt Rhule era. We truly don't know the potential of what we have.

Scoreboard aside, it was blatantly obvious Mayfield was looking better than he ever did here.

I do think tonight has to be an indictment on McAdoo which ultimately goes back to Matt Rhule. McAdoo better call the game of his life Sunday.

That being said, good for Baker. He made some incredible throws, especially on that last drive. He didn't make those throws here. And no one besides the Rams put in a waiver claim. None of the playoff teams, especially San Fran looked at his film this year (or last year) and thought he'd be an upgrade.

I think tonight will still prove to be more anomaly than not, but it doesn't diminish how incredible it was, and it definitely puts him from being on the fringes of the league to absolutely being securely on a team next season and beyond.

    • Personal preference but despite loving blue as a color in general, it's not often I like it being such a dominant color.  That and it's hard to knock off the traditional white on white as my personal favorite combination. Not only is it a clean look, the majority of the greatest moments this franchise has had - 03 Super Bowl run, 15 Cam to Olsen against the Seahawks, etc - were with that combo.
    • You people keep making me defend the 2024 class.  Look XL might as well be 2nd rounder, guys drafted in the 30s-50s do not have what the first round 1-10 have. There's a huge gap. *Most drafts have a tier system that varies. 1-8, 9-14, 15-30, 30-50. Each level there's a huge talent fall or more risk involid. SInce Im a interwebz grandpa, "Back in my day" WRs took 3 full seasons before you knew the ones that had the talent. XL still has time to figure it out and if he doesn't, toss on 20 LBs and give TE a try.....Ive seen him blocking the number off players recently... I still holding out he and BY and...Dave can ALL figure out how to break XL out of the slump.  Im not going to defend Brooks, it was wrong. I heard they viewed him as a first rounder, still.......no more. Wallace is looking better each week after that terrible week one, he's looking more and more like a great pick now. Sanders- a little unlucky, but he's the #1 TE on the roster. He's just got to figure out the silly minor injuries bug. Great pick for a 4th if he does, CSW- Unlucky with minor injuries too, but he's the starting NB. Great pick for the 5th round too as he's a legit starter. Crumedy- part of a deep DL and facts are he is the 50s on roster ranks. Still for a 208, that's about what's normally happens. He's still on the team and next year could have a better role.  UDFA- Coker and RIchardson. They also signed Tremayne form that year, he made the deeeeep WR group and plays a solid ST.    Im a former draft nerd... If you draft 2 starters and a top backup, that's a good/great draft. *Thus far this 2024 class has netted 4 starters, one backup, and one prayer. If you include and should the UFDA its increases the impact.
    • Sounds like no Garrett Wilson next week…
