His OC has done him ZERO favors this year. Having watched every game he's got a Cannon. He presses a lot to overcome short comings with the scheme. He could elevate his stock big time with a new OC and another year.

But of all the problems this year the lack of a running game has been the biggest one.

I think what that big win did….was give Shane Beamer the excuse to keep Satterfield around lol.

If losing to Tenn and then Clemson guaranteed he fired his OC (which I think it did)….would you of chosen that over getting the random Tenn win out for nowhere?

I've watched every game.  Dude has elite arm talent, but between the ears from a "football" IQ standpoint he struggles.  Story of many great athletes.  Not saying he is not smart, but makes poor decisions often with the ball.  I've watched him miss many wide open receivers this year due to feeling pressure that was not there.  His first instinct is to run outside the pocket.  He is a actually a better passer on the run and can make some crazy throws.  The frustration until the TN game is that he does not stand in the pocket and go through his progressions like you want a top-flight quarterback to do.  I said all year they might as well just roll him out every play.  The o-line has not been the best and his OC is not very good at making adjustments in game, but a little like Darnold if you can rough him up early he sees ghost

I'd keep him as a QB coach or an OL coach if he just has to be here, because he knows football and recruits well. He just isn't a good play caller.

Literally no one is saying they want him in this thread, other than the OP, lol

Did not say I wanted him.  Saw him play for first time and he was lights out.  Was just asking what people thought about him. Kinda the purpose of a forum.

That may be the purpose of a normal forum. This one? Not even close.

The Cocks have an iffy Oline, and a semi-bad OC. Rattler is a big reason they are in the position they are in now. But most Huddlers only know him from OU, so they are biased. The kid has had a good year and has been a great teammate. Or at least that is what I have heard and read.

As a Gamecock fan, I hope he stays one more year. Help build the program and get Beamer some added umph in recruiting.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
