You're not supposed to judge people based on how they look, but whenever I see Phil Longo I just think of those apes screeching at the black monolith from 2001

Lol!!!!

if the whole coaching thing doesn’t work out for Longo, he could probably find work on the history channel as an actor whenever they film stuff on cavemen or Neanderthals

Which college team do you support bud?

It takes about two seconds to look at this qb and realize he is not quite on the same level as the guys you just mentioned.

I like Auburn (who was awful this year) but it’s the most recent school I went to. My point is it’s a dumb argument to look strictly at the schools not the prospects. Joe Burrow was a projected 3rd or later round pick before his last year on a roster loaded with NFL talent. Maye is young with plenty of talent. People are hating on him because of his school (and yes fans of the school are overhyping him as well).

I don't dislike the kid.  I just think it's way too premature to anoint him.  The ACC is flat out awful, and that team has struggled to beat good teams.  You are right, my argument in and of itself is no basis to write the kid off, but I don't think it's entirely impertinent.  There are certain teams that have a knack of developing good pros, and some that don't.  UNC is a school that used to pump out great NFL prospects.  In the past ten years we haven't seen much.  Great college qbs really elevate their squad and in the very least can grind out a signature win or two.  UNC looks great against Duke, Syracuse, Va Tech, and Wake Forest (not a real top 25) team.  But Notre Dame, and Clemson?  Outclassed.  He pressed so hard on that pick 6 and couldn't bounce back.  Not sure how you can have this kid over a guy like Rattler who at best is what maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick right now.

Would rather have Bryce Young or CJ Stroud this year, than wait to see if we are bad enough to get next years top notch QBs.

On top of that USCs Caleb Williams will hands down be the #1 pick next year. Maye could very well be the #2 pick but he’s certainly not better than Caleb Williams.

Would be shocked if Maye went ahead of Bryce Young even if he was in this draft class.

Going to be a lot different next year for Maye when he’s under a weekly spotlight to perform like Young Stroud and Levis were this year. Maye is talented and a good prospect, but certainly not worth passing on a good QB prospect this year and throwing away a whole season for.

    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.

    • I'm more of a Hornets fan than I am a Panthers fan, I've watched a ton of this franchise the last 20 years. I post all day on RealGM. Don't get your hopes up, this is setting us up for a 20 point loss to the Heat and a swift end to the season. Spoelstra has always solved us, the Heat have two bigs that we have no answers for, and Jaquez is a certified Hornets killer that always plays us like he has a grudge on us. The Hornets being a top 10 team all year and a top 5 team the last half of the year and then flat out missing the playoffs is incredibly on brand for this crappy, horrendous franchise. I would love to be proven wrong. But I've suffered enough to know this little scheme the team is pulling. We finished 2 games out of 6th and guaranteed playoffs, and we blew two games to the Pacers and Nets earlier in the season, when they weren't trying to win. It's just who we are, Hornets DNA
