Happy for Baker?

I am genuinely happy for Baker. He had the most important game of his career last night, literally balled out on two days notice to show that he can still play. 

I am also still totally fine we let him go because we need to start fresh.  Sure, he looked like trash under Rhule and McAdoo. It’s really an indictment of the offensive system and hopefully highlights how important it is to have a great head coach and the right offense.  So the narrative is that it was a bad environment and a bad fit and that’s true.  

However, I still think Baker has several limitations that were exposed that indicate he will never be more than an average QB in this league.  I hope we can do better in the upcoming draft.

I hope he tears it up in LA. It improves our draft stock and hopefully will embarrass Tepper enough that he fires Ben McAdoo before the season is over.

Yes I’m happy for Baker too. I didn’t see the game but the post game transcript is pretty telling. The Raiders were running press coverage in the 4th. In the post game interview Baker said he was surprised of the coverage. I saw a stat that said Baker was 0 for 20 when down at least 13 points starting the 4th quarter since joining the NFL. In my humble opinion it’s more of an indictment on the Raiders for being over confident.

If he can rattle off a couple of wins or more, the bumps up the draft order we get will be worth more than whatever small compensatory pick he would have provided.

I am not convinced that Fitterer is a guy that pays much attention to compensatory picks. TBD because it is clear that Rhule was largely running the show.

Well, that is the difference between competent offensive coaching and incompetent offensive coaching.

Happy for Baker. Probably the height of his career, glad he got to put it together like that. 
As far as indicting the Panthers let’s see how he does next time.

I'm nothing towards baker. He's still a shitty qb that wouldn't be here next year. But hopefully this shows them that mcadoo is complete ass and we'll get a real offensive mind in here for next season

Further proof that until we get better coaching, it doesn't matter who we have at QB. They'll look like ass.
