Really solid game by Sam. He had a few throws that were off, but he took care of the football and had one of his better games. The sacks he took were either from coverage, or Ekwonu getting beat.

(Ickey got pancaked by a safety on one play?)

Defense was a complete joke today, absolutely laughable.

That was Christensen that got pancaked.  But to be fair he also got tripped by Bozeman as he was stepping back as he was trying to brace himself.

Bozeman got abused the most out of all the olineman. But they all got their asses handed to them.

The defense however...where do I start.

Sorry Frank that is just simply not true.

Darnold still can't even get over the 59% completion hump. Trubisky is bad and even he has 64% for his career. Sam Darnold is a backup at best and will likely be gone next season and we can and will acquire an upgrade over what he has to offer. You don't have to like the facts but that's the rub bud.

Trubisky is a backup that was benched for an unprepared rookie because he was playing so poorly. Neither one are guys you want to rely on, but the loss today was far less Sam than anyone else.

Outperformed by Mitch Trubisky. Find a better QB to cape for dude.

Does not matter how Trubisky played. It's as simple as Darnold did not MAKE us lose today whether you like it or not. Im no Darnold is the future supporter but I can see obvious when it sits in front of me. He did not play all world but he as well did not kill us to pieces and make us lose either. Is that make trying to "cape" for Darnold? Nope it's just the simple facts.

People said the same stuff about Baker before he got truly exposed. Sam already has been exposed. Only Panthers fans are foolish enough to have forgotten it already. Every QB on this team currently can be removed and upgraded at some level. That's the simple facts. And until we do that none of the other factors you mentioned matter anyway. When we went down 7 I knew the game was over regardless. And let's be clear about it. The coaches know Sam would have turned the ball over eventually. They purposely held him back. Yet you want to celebrate because he didn't do anything terrible. How ridiculous.

Even when they tied them back up at 7-7?

I think the game was over once it became 14-7 and was shown that the Defense couldn't stop anyone.

    • Im not angry. Im disappointed. I want to win. Anyone who has watched Bryce play the last 3 years and thinks that this team has in any way seriously addressed the glaring deficiencies in our QB room is deluding themselves. It's been explained ad nauseum how our FO has protected Bryce from feeling even slightly challenged or pressured. A GM without an interfering owner would have brought in another QB to at least give the team a better chance at winning. We just gave an extension to a QB that only got 3k yards on the last play of his 16th game of the year. Indy admitted AR wasn't good enough by bringing in Jones to compete for the starting role. Tennessee drafted Ward to replace Levis. Stroud hasn't repeated his 1st year and Mills' performance was decent when he filled in after Stroud's injury and some were calling for him to remain starter. His future there is still in question even with a 5th year. We should have done the same, especially given that Bryce was benched.  Bringing in Grier is just another glaring billboard pronouncing the obvious. Dave Tepper still has his hands in the daily operations of this team. He controls the QB room because Bryce was his pick. Until Tepper finally admits that Bryce has barely lived up to the standards of a NFL Qb, we're going to spend our days reminiscing of when we were mediocre and finished 9-7.  It's just discouraging. We'll address every position on the field except the one with a glaringly obvious shortcoming. I had hoped Tepper really had backed off. Bryce's 5th year, Dalton's 2 year contract then trade, Kenny Pickett, Will Grier, Jack Plummer, and  Hendon Hooker say otherwise. It already feels like it's going to be a hard year of Panthers football to watch.
