Maybe THIS is why Harbaugh wants back in the NFL

There was plenty there, they just chose to let it slide.

From the NYTimes:

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The N.C.A.A. did not dispute that the University of North Carolina was guilty of running one of the worst academic fraud schemes in college sports history, involving fake classes that enabled dozens of athletes to gain and maintain their eligibility.

But there will be no penalties, the organization said, because no rules were broken.

In a ruling that caused head-scratching everywhere except Chapel Hill, the N.C.A.A. announced on Friday that it could not punish the university or its athletics program because the “paper” classes were not available exclusively to athletes. Other students at North Carolina had access to the fraudulent classes, too.

Five years later and y’all still whining about this. There were no fake classes and fraudulent grades. This has now been proven. We’re the liberal studies classes up to standard with the rest of the university? Probably not; however the facts and numerous investigations and hearings exonerated UNC.

a lot of people were mad at UNC and NCAA because they (as low life fans of other schools) invested a lot of time and energy into it. Y’all need to be mad at people like Danny Kane and Jonny Solomon for stringing you along for clicks and website traffic.

Didn't something similar happen with Pete Carroll when he left USC

Yes Pete the Cheat broke damn near every rule in the book but got a pair of national championships and won a ton of games. Those USC teams with Bush and Leinart were incredible. of course after he was caught cheating he jumped ship to the NFL and left a mess which some would argue they still haven’t recovered from.

USC, like duke, is a private school so they can generally tell nosy reporters to F off and don’t have to respond to FOIA requests.

Jim McDaniel or Mike Harbaugh?  🙃

Are they related to ( Mike McDaniel and Jim Harbaugh )? 🙂 Of those two, Mike McDaniel would probably want less control and be easier to work with.

Let's just hope we get one of them because either would be a great choice.

Please. They had fake classes for basketball players. That is cheating. Funny you think NCAA exoneration means anything. They are a complete joke.

This is your opinion. Many, many others including the NCAA and every reputable educational governing body disagree.

don’t like it? Write your congressman (who probably graduated from UNC)

Some of you Panthers fans kill me. After the last 4 years I’ll take Harbaugh’s “trending down” 4 years. He’s proven his ENTIRE coaching career that he knows what he’s doing. From Stanford to 49ers to Michigan. He knows how to run a successful winning program. Like what else do you want?

He gets put in bad situations and still wins too

Stanford was a joke and he had them finish in the Top 5 by year 4

Niners hadnt made the playoffs in 9 years and he went to the NFCC his first 3 years

Michigan was becoming irrelevant and brought them back to being a title contender

The violations include alleged impermissible contact with recruits during the NCAA-mandated dead periods, as well as the use of a defensive analyst for on-field coaching activities, a rules violation. Sources told ESPN that Harbaugh's cooperation with NCAA enforcement staff during the investigation is also being examined. Harbaugh could face penalties that include a multigame suspension, sources said.

Hardly earth shattering stuff there

    • You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.
    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
