Do the Bears trade Fields and draft QB at 1?

Just to be clear, I love D.J. Moore, and had his picture as my profile picture prior to the current. However, I just cannot think of a scenario where Carolina will make a deal with Chicago without giving him up.

I’d be ok with up to a first, two seconds (one of which is next year) and DJ. I also love DJ and would love to see him with a good coach and QB for the first time but getting that QB is way more important.

Maybe you should actually look into my post history. I was never on the Haskins bandwagon. I was on the Fields one. I was on the Herbert one, too. Stroud is who I like this year. That being said, I’m very clearly a Florida Gator fan and lots of folks here can vouch for that. Assume less about me going forward.

Well you defend these overrated Ohio State QBs like you are their mother. Every Fields thread you make a comment without hesitation.

That’s not how how teams operate. Drafting Rosen one year at like 12 and then Murray the next year first overall happens.

Rosen was much worse than Fields has been. He was Clausen bad. When you whiff that bad, it’s not as bad a look to try again.

I like Fields and didn’t think we should have passed on him. Is there some rule I can’t talk about him when others make threads about him? And who else am I defending? I like Stroud out of this crop of QBs. I don’t think either one is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It’s weird because folks were accusing me of doing the same thing for Anthony Richardson just weeks ago.

Just say you were wrong and move on.

How am I wrong I provided links you have nothing but “hurr I watch the games” Fields is a terrible passer by every metric.

And since you defend every OSU QBs than any Florida player one would think you are a fan boy. You even want us to trade our best player to make Fields look better lol

Thank you for confirming you’re an idiot. Normally I’d continue to go back and forth but it’s worthless to chat with people who want to tell me who I’m a fan of.

    • It is simply a team that is unable to beat the teams they should beat. If they do that, no convoluted tiebreaker needed, and a justifiable winning record.  Team was 8-10 on the year and showed progress. But let’s not get carried away and throw a parade because of some fluke tiebreaker result.  We finished 1-3 coming out of a bye and 3 of those were ‘must win’ games. Only Seattle was not a must win. So we finished 1-2 in must win games and backed into the playoffs due to a fluke.  Generally speaking most teams drop a couple they shouldn’t and win a couple they shouldn’t. And that is what happened with our 2 wins over playoff teams. We stole a couple.    it was good that we did that, but a true good team does not get swept by the Saints, with a QB making only his second start in that first game.     That is what losing teams do. I have seen enough losing teams to know that.    Aside from that, I understand the thought that we have arrived and now we should expect to win every week. But I don’t really agree that we are there yet. I understand the FO and coaching staff need to take that posture around the players, but I am worried if they really believe that and start making moves based off of thinking our window is open NOW. .   I think one more season of acting as if we are building and the window is yet to open, would serve us better.  You know, afraid we are gonna start doing ‘win now’ moves and undermine the build.    We are really set up to take a step back now, with this harder schedule, with the unexpected Icky injury, and still with a lot of holes.
    • Unless it’s cheap. He is only 2 years from 100 point season and plays 200 feet.
    • I mean, if you could tell before he ever took a snap... ammiright?  Reality, my friend, shows a massive history of the best QBs taking time to come up to speed. Those that didn't are very, very rare. Manning, Rogers, Manning, Young, Montana, Stabler, Bradshaw, Staubach, Favre ... the list of those that took a few years to either get off the bench or make it on the field just goes on and on. The list of those thrown into the fire and just getting burned up is even longer. There's no magic crystal ball. There's just good coaching, patience and a helluva lot of luck in these picks.
