Coaching interview updates

I guess we can infer that since they are scheduling head coach interviews that Fitterer's going to be the GM going forward?

I'm kind of disappointed that there was no word of an adviser being brought in to help Tepper make those decisions before the season ended.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Tepper admitted that was an omission from the Rhule search that he wouldn't let happen again.  Do wonder if there's anyone helping out of house.

Reich is set to interview this week. So are Caldwell and Wilks.

Johnson can be hired immediately, which at least potentially gives him a leg up on Steichen, Dorsey, Ryans, maybe Waldron pending tonight's outcome.

General belief is this will be a "wide net" search so it could take a while.

All indications are Harbaugh isn't in play for us, but is for the Broncos and Colts.

yes

From Breer's "coaching carousel" article...

As for Carolina GM Scott Fitterer, I’ve heard he’s been involved in laying groundwork for finding the next coach, so I think Tepper will keep him (I know he likes him) and his personnel staff...

I sure hope he gets this right.  He's got to be better than Hurney, right?

Can you find a reliable source saying otherwise right now?

Maybe not but JJ put an article out today and didn't mention that info, why not? That would have been a great way to break that news today.

From the article...

Reports out of Minnesota about Harbaugh's interview last year with the Vikings made Tepper wary, sources say. A lengthy interview between the Vikings and Harbaugh last January didn't result in an offer, and sources describe Harbaugh's behavior during the interview as "odd."

From Jones on Twitter, linking this article...

It's not happening

    • I may be way off base, let’s include this in that questions thread, but with the way the offensive staff turned on each other in 2023 I am happy to see anyone involved, gone. I had a bad feeling about Caldwell over it.
    • No poo tho you might could Jenkins for Legette. They got nothing at WR after the big 2 in Cincy. I don’t think you trade away OL depth. Could get a quality player in cuts. Really that 3-4 end spot what you should be looking for is someone who is stout with long arms and can push back the OL in both the run and pass game for others to make plays…. But we signed Wharton, sometimes I think Evero is a fraud ass nerd who should be an analyst at best.
    • you would honestly probably do Monroe Freeling more of a disservice by putting him in a position where is not yet ready to succeed. .we all knew Monroe Freeling struggled at the NFL combine in drills because of technique related issues & would need time to develop  & now all of a sudden before they even put the pads on Monroe Freeling is somehow a starting LT in the NFL ? if he struggled at the NFL scouting combine what do you actually think is going to happen in a live NFL game at LT ? .even our best LT of all time was not ready to start at LT when he was a rookie & he turned out to be a pretty good darn LT by the name of Jordan Gross ...just saying be patient Young Jedis
