If the Ravens are moving on from Lamar should we knock on that door?

Two things: #1 The Ravens are not going to let QB Lamar Jackson go. #2 Even if they did, the Panthers are still in a somewhat of a rebuild mode and cannot afford him.

theres is real smoke about ravens not wanting to pay him top 3 money.....Its possible to tag him this and the next for cheaper.....maybe during work out some trade.

The history shows running QBs have much less careers.

I agree and I do member you being one of the few that didnt want Watson before the tiny towel deal....

What i dont get is *IF* I am trading up for your pick, why do i tell you its for a QB??? Its for a player. Sorta like if you call catering service and tell them its for a wedding, the price is 35% more.....so you have to lie in order to avoid the wedding tax. super dumb.... Its my business whom Im drafting....

If people have a list of your dietary needs, they'll probably have a good idea of what you're going to order from the caterer.

Everybody knows what we need. We could go into the draft every day from here on out telling people that we're looking for a middle linebacker and nobody's gonna buy it.

Yea I know its hard to hide. Still if its known a QB is the target, people lose their combined minds about the trade package. My main point is it shouldnt matter, I just what the rights to draft a player and/or feed 200 people.

Regardless of what happens with him and the Ravens, i personally would not want the Panthers to go after him considering the overall cost and the other factors involved.

I live in Baltimore so I have probably seen most of Lamar's games.  I get the concerns I am not dismissing them but the guy is a clear undeniable talent and deserves a hard look.  He is still young and he can become more disciplined while staying exciting.

People in this thread have said he is basically good for half a season and for only a few more years..that line is bullypucky to me.

Name one professional athlete who has been giving a huge guaranteed contract and then changed his behavior to become MORE disciplined.

There comes a time in EVERY NFL players career when they need to start relying on their brain and arm more than their legs.  Running quarterbacks are going to regress as runners over time and often their bodies give out from all of the hits.  If they have been able to make up for inconsistent passing abilities ie Cam by their overall athleticism and running it will come back to haunt them later in their careers.  I have not watched much of Jackson to be quite honest so I guess my question would be, does he have the consistency when it comes to accurately throwing the football and making the correct reads?  If so and you can design an offense that he only runs when absolutely necessary then he may be worth it, but if not then I would say no.  The threat of a QB running is a great thing to have, but it should be the exception.  Josh Allen is going to need to learn this as well or he will be in trouble in a few years.  He takes way too many hits when he runs.  Mahommes is much better at using his run as a threat.

What I guess you are left with is why go through the read progression when after your first or maybe second you see 10 yards of daylight ahead of you.

Lamar is more than a running QB. I don’t know why he’s being reduced to just that in here.

He’s on par with Josh Allen, and Allen is correctly labeled as a dual threat. Lamar has wheels, and is a great runner, but he can beat you with his arm as well.

I’d love to have him.

Possibly your overall health and ability to continue to play the position effectively and as we've seen the runs become less dynamic as they age and get beat up and if the arm is not there they are pretty much done.

The arm is there.  Trust me as I’ve said I’ve seen him play probably close to 50 games  He chooses to run because it’s also there.
