The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis

Let's take a moment to be honest.  We never really spent a bunch of time trying to develop Cam.  We let Cam be Cam and tweaked a few things.  Cam said the first time he ever had to learn to identify the Mike linebacker was in New England.  Then he said New England was one of only a couple of teams in the entire league that tasks their QB with that job, which was the kind of stuff that made his learning curve with the Patriots so steep.  WTF?  He literally said that.

True or not.  You can watch most of the guys that rely heavily on their feet through college and when the heat gets turned up their footwork goes out the window.  Their instincts that they have had their entire football life take over and it is able to get them through those years, but the pros it will not.  The entire games is faster and the windows are much tighter.  Why do you think so many of these college phenoms bust?  I find it crazy that everyone makes excuses for Cam not being all world in the NFL.  His line sucked, he had no receivers, now apparently no one ever coached him either.  Bottom line he did not play smart, always took the big hit when running, was not accurate with the football and did not know how to turn it around in a game when he started out poorly.  Sure he could have had better pieces around him at times, but he is not faultless in how his career ended.

Here's my concern. Most of the guys significantly older benefitting from an extra COVID year make big leaps. They look like men amongst boys in terms of their poise and polish. Bennett, Pickett, Hooker... big leaps in production and they looked very polished and poised out there.

Levis didn't. Levis still looks like a raw prospect. If he was a redshirt sophomore with only one year of starting experience I'd view him much differently. But unfortunately, he's a super senior who will be 24 when he puts on an NFL jersey and he looks like a 20 year old redshirt sophomore on the field.

I feel like a lot of folks bought into the Levis hype after last year just assuming he's make a big leap this year and when he didn't they didn't adjust their opinions. Well, we like the tools so we'll just ignore that he didn't look a bit better this year and arguably regressed.

If he gets to free agency (I think that happens on Feb 15) I am all in on that.  However, we would have to engage in a bidding war---and we could make that work, but it would cost us Shaq in my guesstimate.

Carr will more then likely sign with a team well before the draft

I think Aussie was saying, "if we don't like any of the picks in our range in the draft...(deciding to pick one later or not at all).

Yes, Carr will have a team before the new NFL year begins in March, in my opinion.  He will entertain a bidding war.

I love these QB school videos, by far the best tools for us regular fans to educate ourselves about QB prospects on YouTube. I’ve been watching everything available on all four top guys for months now so my opinion is mostly formed and these two videos didn’t shift my opinion at all. My top choice is trading up for Stroud by far.

Levis just doesn’t do it for me. He often looks lost as a QB. Doesn’t seem to have command of his college offense so I don’t have much faith he’ll command his NFL offense.  He has tools to work with, on the surface he looks like he has potential but I’m not sure he’s got it between the ears. It’s possible he develops into a really good QB and if he can nail the cerebral part of the game then his physical tools give him a high ceiling.  My QB4 for this draft though, I don’t like his chances.

Richardson would be my preference if we can’t get Stroud and Young doesn’t make some crazy fall down to 9 that would be highly unexpected. I’d be happy to take Richardson at 9 or thrilled to drop down to the 12-15 range and grab him there.  He’s a peaks and valleys QB, his peaks look amazing. He can run with the best of them, that’s something that should translate right away, and some of his throws are just beautiful. He has really good snap and power on his throws and sometimes his placement is really good. But his valleys are just horrible.  His decision making has a long way to go and his accuracy is poor overall. No consistency. If we take Richardson, we as fans are going to have to be patient. He’s going to look like trash in year one. He might not even play. In the preseason he’ll have some runs that wow us but look terrible passing the ball. We’re going to have to be patient and not call him a bust just because he looks terrible the first year or two. He’s young and has really high potential though and I like his chances better than Levis.

I don't buy into the Justin Field hype. He makes big plays with his legs. That's about it. He isn't a great passer and gets hurt too much. The latter is really bad for a QB that is more dangerous with his legs than his ability to throw from the pocket. I'd be hesitant to give up anything for him unless it was 3rd round pick  or lower.

I will say that he's had the misfortune of playing for a bad franchise in terms of QB play and offensive coaching. Our team is better in terms of depth which would help him.  A coach like Frank Reich would surely make him better .But I don't think adding him makes us a championship contender overnight. He'd need a couple of years to really learn how to play within the pocket use his legs as a 2nd, not 1st, option.

You mean like how he played in college? He rushed for more yards as a pro this year than he had his entire college career. Sometimes circumstance dictates what you need to do to have a fighting chance each week in the NFL. He ran this year out of necessity. And they were in most games because of it. He’s already said before the season ended you won’t see him run like this next year and the coaching staff agreed.

The only negative is cost...if he took a cut we take him in a heartbeat.

Remember the Eagles game a handful of years ago where we started out poorly and had one of our biggest comebacks in the 4th quarter with Cam? Do you not remember all the times Cam slid, popped up and did his first down celebrations? Nobody is saying Cam is without fault but he did have poor offensive coaching and less than desireable weapons around him. Let’s not make stuff up.

I’m hoping one of the QB needy teams before us sign him. Would be perfect for a team like the Texans. Then they can focus on building their D-Line which is the 49er model driving a lot of Ryan’s success.

I am hoping we move up and spend mostly draft picks this year.  On Kiper’s podcast he mentioned talking with GMs that he was hearing a lot of talk on how this is a weak draft overall.

Again I hope we move up and get really lucky with Levis going top 2 and Bryce or CJ dropping.

I am about half way through the AR video and I'm liking what I hear. So far it sounds like footwork is the biggest issue. If Reich can help him fix that I like what I see. Seems to move around in the pocket well, goes through some reads. Kinda of reminds me of Cam a little, hot and cold on the fundamentals but even off his back foot/toes his arm can get the ball there. On that note footwork and consistency in throwing platform seem to be a BIG deal, so if he can't get that fixed it is going to lead to a lot of frustration.

Still got 10 minutes left.

He is more like Josh Allen. The Cam comparison literally only comes from them being black and I wish people would look more at things like Arm strength, throwing motion, movement, fluidity, etc.

He is like Cam in that he can run. But he's more like Allen in how he runs, how he throws, the reads he's making, etc. I don't want another Cam who was slow to read defenses every year but, and even in, 2015. Love the guy and what he did but I'd rather have an Allen type such as Richardson than a Cam type.

    • Introduction Have you heard that not getting enough sleep might harm your health? Recent studies indicate that individuals who do not receive sufficient amounts of sleep each night are more prone to cardiac issues and a lack of focus and attention. But even if you have been struggling with insomnia for several years, you can now regain the capacity to sleep correctly with a new product called Sleep Guard Plus. By using this product, you can avoid feeling exhausted and begin living a better life immediately. If a future filled with restful sleep interests you, please continue reading to learn more.   What is Sleep Guard Plus? Sleep Guard Plus is a dietary supplement developed to assist those experiencing sleeping difficulties. As we all know, sleep is an essential component of existence. When you are sleeping, your body’s repair processes are active, contributing to the maintenance of its regular operations. However, several circumstances can affect our capacity to fall asleep, as the person who developed Sleep Guard Plus claimed. As a result, Sleep Guard Plus was created to restore deep sleep and certain body activities essential for effectively regulating sleep-wake cycles. The formula comprises all-natural components supported by scientific research to sustain good sleep cycles. You only need a supply of Sleep Guard Plus supplements that last at least one month to see noticeable results. Use the formula daily for one month to experience positive changes in your sleep patterns. Many people have reported successful results in regaining their capacity to sleep and obtaining sufficient rest during the night. How Does Sleep Guard Plus Works? Sleep Guard Plus was developed to address the fundamental causes of all sleep issues. Have you ever wondered about the reasons behind your recent struggles to fall asleep? The developers of Sleep Guard Plus have thought out everything specifically for you. Research findings suggest that several elements, including age and lifestyle factors, affect our ability to fall asleep. This refers to the generation of sleep hormones and other essential components within the body that are required for falling asleep. Melatonin, known as the sleep hormone, is necessary to fall asleep. However, the body loses its capacity to maintain the creation of these essential components when it is subjected to toxins and does not have sufficient fuel to support the production of these elements. As a result, Sleep Guard Plus’s formulation has been developed to address the underlying cause of the issue, namely the restoration of gut health and the reduction of inflammation. Additionally, the formula’s components stimulate the creation of essential elements such as GABA, melatonin, serotonin, TEG, and other vital components necessary for maintaining intestinal health and a balanced sleep-wake cycle.   Sleep Guard Plus Ingredients The list of ingredients in the Sleep Guard Plus formula, along with their functions, has been mentioned to help you understand how these ingredients work: Sleep Guard Plus Benefits Sleep Guard Plus is a supplement that is designed to improve the quality of your sleep. It achieves this by enhancing the production of melatonin, a hormone that regulates your sleep-wake cycle. It helps you fall asleep faster and enjoy a more restful sleep. Additionally, Sleep Guard Plus increases the activity of neurotransmitters like serotonin and GABA, which are involved in sleep regulation. It promotes relaxation, reduces anxiety, and helps you sleep more appropriately. Sleep Guard Plus also contains natural ingredients such as passion flower and ashwagandha, which have adaptogenic properties. These help regulate your body’s stress response, reducing stress and anxiety and promoting a more relaxed state conducive to sleep. Magnesium and goji berry in the supplement help regulate blood pressure and blood sugar levels, promoting overall cardiovascular health and stable energy levels throughout the day, contributing to better sleep at night. Moreover, Sleep Guard Plus contains probiotics and prebiotics that support a healthy gut microbiome. It is essential because gut health, including sleep quality, is crucial to overall well-being. Certain ingredients in the supplement, like passion flower and ashwagandha, also have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce inflammation and promote better sleep. Lastly, Sleep Guard Plus contains goji berry and ashwagandha, which have immune-boosting properties. Adequate sleep is essential for a healthy immune system, and Sleep Guard Plus helps support immune function to ensure overall well-being and vitality. Is Sleep Guard Plus Safe to Use Daily? Sleep Guard Plus is generally considered safe for daily use when taken as directed. However, as with any supplement, it’s essential to follow the recommended dosage guidelines provided by the manufacturer. It’s also advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen, especially if you have underlying health conditions, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking medication that may interact with the ingredients in Sleep Guard Plus. While Sleep Guard Plus is formulated with natural ingredients and is designed to induce sleep naturally without causing significant side effects, individual responses may vary. Some users may experience mild side effects such as drowsiness, gastrointestinal discomfort, or allergic reactions, particularly if they have sensitivities to any ingredients. To ensure safety and efficacy, it is essential to purchase Sleep Guard Plus from reputable sources and discontinue use if you experience any adverse reactions. Additionally, exceeding the recommended dosage or using Sleep Guard Plus as a substitute for proper medical treatment for sleep disorders or underlying health conditions is not recommended.   What is the Accurate Dosage of Sleep Guard Plus? The accurate dosage of Sleep Guard Plus is typically one capsule daily, taken before bedtime. It’s essential to follow the manufacturer’s recommended dosage instructions to ensure safety and efficacy. Taking more than the recommended dosage does not necessarily lead to better results and may increase the risk of side effects. It’s also advisable to take Sleep Guard Plus with a glass of water and to avoid taking it with food, as this may affect its absorption and effectiveness. Additionally, it’s essential to maintain a consistent sleep schedule and to create a conducive sleep environment to optimize the benefits of Sleep Guard Plus.
