Chasing "the next whomever" in the draft is all too frequently a waste of time.

Cam was truly a generational talent. Unfortunately, Ron Rivera elected to set back and ride Cam’s coattail rather than elevate the Oline and preserve Cam’s health. What did Ron Rivera ever accomplish as a coach prior to and post Cam Newton? Answer is below average…it’s not a coincidence.

Show me a QB in NFL history who could pass well but was considered a bust?

I said Levis can pass the ball…meaning he has a decent ability to read a defense and deliver the ball accurately.  That doesn’t guarantee anything.  I am not sold he can read an NFL defense and process quickly.  Hence, he can bust as well.  
 

Stroud and Young are the QBs worth moving crazy assets for but Levis brings more risk IMO.  AR is a crazy risk because you are wanting him to be something he has never shown.  
 

I would ask is AR even that great a runner?  Feels like Ronald Curry who moved to a skill position later in his career because he couldn’t be accurate.  You are basically running full time wildcat if you are starting AR.

Saying that I hope that isn't the goal. We really need to try and get Stroud or Young if we can.

Agree…except for AR having higher upside than Levis but that’s cool.  Excited about the draft and we both have similar dreams.

 NFL Scouts are reporting that Anthony Richardson's  pocket awareness is improving all the time and are impressed by his  absolute cannon of an arm that can hopefully become more accurate with additional games.

Richardson has more upside than most. But if the Panthers went in his direction, then giving him adequate time to refine his skills is essential rather than throwing him in as the Day 1 starter.

There is still a rawness to Richardson’s overall production. His decision-making needs work and there is also a tendency to force throws rather than take what he’s given, which could become a problem against NFL defenders.

I mean ... do we not want to build a dynasty here? I said it in another thread, some of you want to relive the Cam Era so damn bad you're willing to draft a WORSE version of him? That makes zero sense. I know Cam brought joy to your lives, guys ... but come on. We need a GREAT QB ... not a discount version of:

now polished?  No where near Cam…….yet.

Anthony Richardson can't pass. He's a fastball pitcher that will get picked off 4 to 5 times a game in the NFL. He has 0 touch and can't layer his passes and has little arm talent. His footwork in the pocket is raw. He is a wildcat QB that every NFL defense will challenge to win the game with his arm.

Definitely not a QB Reich would want behind center. There is no stability to his game and he is not clutch with his situational football.

      Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.

      Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.

      Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
