Nah. If the story were true I wouldn't be that bothered by it given the way our front office operates. I wouldn't take it all that seriously either for the same reason.

But regardless, if you go to Twitter you can find loads of low level "sources" claiming they saw someone say something on TV to draw attention to themselves. Happens pretty much every day.

That's why until I see a more reliable source doing something other than quoting this Twitter account, I'm not buying it.

The original source apparently claimed to have seen it there, and the guy above (from BroBible) quoted it. It's a common tactic used by fake Twitter accounts to claim someone said it.

Will Kunkel and Sheena Quick have both said it's bullsh-t. Most others haven't even acknowledgement it.

Even if we aren't interested in Rodgers, it's possible we are more checking on how hot Carr will be. If Rodgers is available, Carr has less suitors and there is less pressure on the Panthers to make a decision quickly. If Rodgers isn't available and Lamar isn't available, then Carr is the #1 QB in this market.

If we acquire Rodgers or Carr, we won’t draft a QB at 9. At least incredibly unlikely since nothing is impossible. 
 

We probably load up on skill players in the first two rounds, or go for our favorite edge. 
 

Corral and Eason will be the young guys learning, and since they are already on the roster, their presence won’t piss off the vet we just committed to.

It's no different than discussing a hypothetical. This is the offseason, there's not exactly content growing on trees at the moment. And we don't even know for sure if the story is fake yet.

In order to even entertain trading for Rogers I believe we have to have 60m in cap space available just to be able to take his current salary without being over.

As far as the Panthers inquiring, they need to know where every domino is likely to tip. 
They need to at the least dig up a feel for where he will go, as putting any good intel into the pot helps when they are cooking up the plans, as in plan A, plan B etc.
