According to The Athletic's Doug Haller, not only is there a "strong possibility" that star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is traded, but the Cardinals also "remain open to trading the No. 3 pick and moving back to gain additional picks, which might be their best option."

Haller explained Arizona has many roster needs, leading to the team's desire to explore its trade options.

"This is a team with more questions than answers. In his first year on the job, GM Monti Ossenfort needs to rebuild the offensive line, add a pass rusher and improve the cornerback room," Haller wrote while adding wide receiver to that list in the event Hopkins is traded.

This has been my thought for awhile. Package Pick 3 and Nuke Hopkins for pick 9 and maybe a 1st and 3rd/4th next year.

Not sure how feasible it is with the cap numbers and compensation but it’s worth a discussion at the least.

i have been thinking for a good while that AZ seems like the most likely and ideal trade partner.

c'mon WIlson.... work your connections!

Same.  I've though that for a while, and honestly believe they're the highest possible we can get.  Not because we don't want the #1 pick, but I don't think the Bears are willing to drop back all the way to #9 and miss out on one of the elite defensive prospects.

If my board has three QBs we would be willing to trade up for, then ok.  I do not see us trading up on draft day-  Why, you ask? All of the QB needy teams will have already moved up--they ain't trading out.

If Baltimore gets two firsts for Jackson, then expect them to be in the market with the draft capital to move up to #1 if they want.  I think it would be smart to work out a deal sooner than later, but not if you don't love 3 QBs--Me?  I only love 2 and like 2.

OK here is what you could do--trade up to #3.  If your top 2 QBs are gone (Young, Stroud, for example) that means you have the access to the best non-QBs in the draft--Jalen Carter and Will Anderson to trade out.  After that, imo, there is a drop off.   Trade out of #3 back to #6 or so, for example. a team wanting one of the remaining QBs or Carter/Anderson will be all in.  It is risky, but so is moving up for Richardson or Levis.

But the thing is to get to #3 now, and then move around if needed.

Trading to 3 means we probably keep our 25 first and we should have the option of Young/Stroud or whoever we like better out of Levis/AR.  You really have to be sold on 3 QBs though and I think we might be...  So there have been Levis rumors for a minute and we apparently like Young although he SHOULD be gone by 3.  We also have McCown on camera comparing Stroud to Burrow and seemed high on him.  Reports are currently that we don't think AR is worth that high of a pick, but the other 3 look to be fair game.  Trade to 3 and let the pieces fall ahead of you.

Person mentions #3 as a likely target...

The Panthers are considering all options, but they know they would have to switch places with Arizona at 3 to ensure they get one of the top three QBs on their board. While the Panthers are impressed with Anthony Richardson’s raw talent, my sense is they view him as too big of a gamble to trade up for. Then — assuming they don’t pursue another free agent such as Jimmy Garoppolo — it becomes a matter of which QB they like best among Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud and Will Levis.

    • You literally did it right there and didn't even remember it. Sorry long Friday.
    • TMac to finish up Feels good after pads came on. Physicality is a little different, playstyle is a little different. Refs let the players play, so he has to earn his stripes to get calls and just has to be better playing through contact. Focusing on staying confident and listening to coaches. Not much has changed for him, still trying to be his authentic self. Was asked about boxing practice he was seen doing. He's done that since he was a kid because his dad was a boxer and taught his siblings. Was the youngest and got beat up the most, but now he's the fourth of sixth children. Boxing helps with his cardio and being reactive with his hands to the ball + DB. Admits to struggling the first couple of days, hats off to the DB corps for making him better every single day but had his best day on Wednesday. Even the best get got. Just have to remain confident in preparation and abilities. Confidence will take you only so far, and that's where his resilience plays a factor. XL is authentic and great to have in the room. Can rely on him to be the same guy every day. They make each other better. Everybody feeds off of each other and when one person wins they all win. Happy to be a part of the receiver room. Was asked about how he was laughing harder than everybody else at XL getting his feet in the water off the back of the boat: "Man he needs to be stopped bro... He can't be serious but he was serious. It's all good." Playing against the increased amount of press he's facing in practice is helping him get more physical. His job is to catch the ball, so if it touches his hand he has to come down with it. Only catches with one hand if he needs to, but that gives the QB a bigger catch radius. Had a pregame routine where he did a 360 one-handed catch, but doesn't do it anymore. Working on being a pro: Getting into the facility early and getting treatment, eating better, etc. Just wants to win re: rookie goals. Anything he can do to help the team win. "I'm looking for to the season man and keep pounding."
    • DJ Wonnum up next Felt the defense came out ready to work at all levels and took over practice. New standard around here. Young guys have to know they're coming in to work. Last year was not the standard. Nic and Princely are fun. Different personalities but loves what they bring to the room. Sky is the limit for them. Nic sits next to Wonnum, Princeley sits next to Jones II. Allows them to be better mentors. Feels great and ready to go Incoom's athleticism allows him to bend and get low even to compensate for not being the biggest guy. Can set the edge. EDGE guys are helped when the ILBs can get home because it allows them to be a little more free while still in scheme. DB being back means his dominance is back. Can set the edge from the 3 or wherever he's at to make the runs bounce to the EDGE guys. Winning mentality and standard this year. Championship level from practice to how you live off of the field. Accept greatness and excellence with guys wanting to come to work every day. Not settling for anything less. Been in guys' shoes that are fighting for roster spots so he knows how to address them. Remembers not knowing what's next, especially as a rookie. Have a clear mind and ask the older guys a lot of questions. Has a good relationship already with Pat Jones II due to knowing each other and talking football all of the time. Can make hand gestures and know immediately what to adjust. Taking care of his body and excited to start the season. Getting it acclimated to football again by being able to tackle and bring players to the ground. Didn't know they were playing live tomorrow. Don't tell me it'll be "thud." Browns next week will allow them to hit somebody else and get a feel of what a different team is doing. Also allows the team to see where they're at on offense and defense. Ready to play football. Not worried about the QB matchup for Cleveland, going to play hard regardless of who is back there.
