AND I can't have a guy cower when asked to come and throw with all the other QBs and chooses to wimp out. Bad move.

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/bryce-young-combine-throwing-2023/

After reading THAT after other guys CAME OUT, PREPARED AND GAVE THE EFFORT to do so and one guy because of actual or perceived weakness chose willingly or from bad advice not to throw like CJ, Levi's, AR.

AR didn't hide due to perceived or actual accuracy issues. He came and threw like a man.

His people say he was healing up from injuries. I think the article above is more on target, which would be pathetic among competitive folk in my opinion.

Not a warrior mentality like Matt Corral who was actually showed up after being really injured and fought to complete the combine including showcasing his trade craft and he was still a little "hurt".

Ok, let's make this easy. Let's let the average woman pick for us, kinda like a dating show. Put the two gentlemen side by side, who do you think she'll pick.

Getting louder, and louder...

They lined them all up and the answer was not Matt Corral hahaha

I'll tell ya secret, core strength and functional strength for tasks is different than weight room.  A 190 pound QB with a brain and good coaching can compete with a "adonis" on the field. Ever heard the phrase looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. Coaches know it. Combine warriors and gold medal winning underwear Olympics guys do happen. The mental game is part of the equation. Otherwise Jake Locker and Blaine Gabbery would still be playing QB somewhere.

You can gather your 5'4, 5'10, 180, 125LB eric pages group and I will gather my 6'2, 6'5, 235, 315 adonis group on the football field under NFL rules. You would be curb stomp to the center of earth and the local city would run out of ambulances.

Young is a great QB, just had the bad luck of being born 100 year before he fit in with others. Odds are against, but there is a small chance hes very successful(NFL keeps making rules to project QBs).

It's not the size of the dog in a fight, it's the size of the fight in the DOG.

Bob Sanders, Mike Singletary, Robert Mathis, Brian Burns, Sam Mills, Aaron Donald, Barry Sanders, Wes Welker, Tyrann Mathieu, Thomas Davis, Shaq Thompson, Steve Smith Sr,  Darren Sproles and many more were likely told at some point "Your too small for NFL"

I'm officially on the Bryce Young wagon.  There is more to the game than measurables.  JaWarus Russell was a prototype size QB with a "cannon"   look up combine warriors.  Look up draft busts who were considered prototypes.

I'm not saying I don't like CJ Stround.  I will be excited bout that pick too. BUT if it's levis or AR I will be worried bout our future.

Some people question the plan here. We don't have the assets to build around the number 1 pick and the talent base of this offense is literally the worst in the NFL. So maybe we will have a decent offense by Year 3 of Reich, but this 1st year is going to be rough and I'd hate to ruin a number 1 pick by having them throw to Shenault, Shi Smith, Terrace Marshall, and Ian Thomas.

Think about that for a minute. It's quite literally the worst receiving group in the NFL and it isn't even close. Then we have Blackshear and Chubba under contract at running back.

Then we have a transition to a 3-4 defense coming.

So people aren't upset, they just don't see how this is going to work in the foreseeable future. It reeks of Tepper wanting a cash cow to me. He wants to be noticed. That's it. It's not about winning because if it were, trading down amd developing the talent base of the entirety of the roster would've been the better move here. Could've had potential stars on the lines, tight ends, running back, edge rusher, safety, corner, etc.

Now we traded all of that for one pick, along with DJ Moore...

So yeah. People are wondering how this is going to work.

we have an excellent young defense and offensive line, an A+ coaching staff and 150 million in cap next year alongside with good draft capital the next few years. What more can you want?

    • It's amazing how much yall can say the same things over and over and not annoy yourselves with it.
    • If you only look at measurables, Mingo and Legette might seem similar.  But when you actually look at them and watch them play, they aren't close to the same.   And this is coming from someone who is skeptical about Legette, although ultimately I believe he will work out.  I've just always disagreed with the comparisons to Mingo.   Mingo tests better than he plays/runs, whereas Legette plays/runs as well as he tests.
    • As bad as things were with the Panthers last year, we still had 4 other games outside of the 2 we won that we came very close to winning.  Could throw the Falcons game in there too, it was tied going into the 4th. I'm not really sure what to expect this year.  I don't think we'll make the playoffs.  However, we play in a very weak division where no team has a standout QB.  On paper, our OL should be good, and could be great if Ikem improves.  That alone could help mask a lot of problems on offense.  Should allow us to run the ball better.  Even if Bryce doesn't improve, the OL should at the very least give him more time to make the easy throws underneath and let a guy like Legette work his magic after the catch. And I think this defense in a 2nd year with Evero should, at the very least, be in the top 16.  I'm expecting our run defense to be as good as it has been in years. I think this team could push for 7-8 wins.  But it could also finish with 2 wins again.  That is just how the league works.  Jets offense was miserable last year, and yet they still won 7 games.   We won't really get a good feel of it until after the preseason, and even then, who knows.
