Give away more draft picks? Between Rhule and this new staff, we are draft pick poor.

Are you really poor if you've got the #1 pick though?

Hell, we've actually got just one less pick than you would in a standard draft, with the difference being that we have no picks in the sixth or seventh but an extra in the fourth.

If they actually do trade down, they could have even more.

I couldn't name a free agent who is a true number one right now.

The Chiefs just won a SB with both of their starting wideouts currently free agents.

Scheme matters.  Get some good route runners and a stud TE.  Then draft another and allow TMJ to continue to develop.  I have a feeling he will be a 1,000 yard receiver next year

Yeah because drafting some WR in the 3rd round is the solution to surrounding our rookie with proper talent. Sending one of our 4th’s or SF’s 3rd for Hopkins would solve a lot of issues. God forbid we won’t be able to draft another Brandon Smith in the 4th this year

But instead you want to pay for one of these WR3’s on the market?

Good thinking, we don’t have enough of those! Maybe they can call up Marvin McNutt and see what he’s up to

Yeah I don’t get the problem if you trade a pick for a good player..when what you’re trying to do in the draft is use the pick to draft a good player. Were people pissed when we traded the 3rd rder for Olsen?

Probably not the guys they're mentioning. I'd be looking at the non-1st round Clemson prospects. Two guys who come to mind are EDGE K.J. Henry and TE Davis Allen.

I mean, Clemson is one of the top college football programs in the nation and they're virtually in our backyard. It'd be negligent not to have a strong presence there.

Yet we’ve never drafted a single player from them, makes no sense

We've kicked the tires on plenty of them. Most notably, Tater fans all-world all-pro MLB amazing college all star but I really suck in the NFL Ben Boulware.

Exactly. The chances of any player (except kicker and maybe RB) of becoming a starter ever is extremely low

    • Yeah. As a wild card team. Washington won the division at 10-6.
    • no doubt but flip that.   The current system insures that there are "regional" games in the early weeks. maximizing the reach of playoff football.  If all of the WC weekend for a conference took place on the west coast they are reducing the "reach" of their hype machine.
    • Hard to say with London--he never ran--combine or pro day.  Here is what AI says, and it is always 100% accurate: Drake London's 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine was not recorded because he was dealing with a fractured ankle at the time. While he didn't participate in the 40 at the Combine or his pro day, his coach said his 40 time was estimated to be between 4.4 and 4.53 seconds. Some sources also list his 40 time at 4.58 and 4.6 seconds Unless you are running 9s all day, top end 40 speed is rarely reached.  I have always looked at the 3-cone drill.  At his pro day, TMac ran a 6.86--pretty good, actually.  For context, it is faster that Rome Odunze (6.88) who ran a 4.45 40.  Odunze is 6'3" and weighs 216, fwiw, and is considered a very good route runner with no wasted motion.  Mike Evans 3-cone was 7.08.  To put it in a broader context, through 2022, with all NFL prospect 3-cone drills combined, a 6.86 puts TMac in the.89th percentile-  Now consider the fact that he is 6'4" and 220.   We might have something here.  '
