I think the Chinn angle is undertalked about. I mean day one and they sign a safety?!?!? Chinn and his huge neck, better buckle up and get to making a difference.....this is his contract year too...

I don't know how much weight Chinn could pack on but both him and shaq are light for ILB. Panthers are going to need to address that with more than shy

If they have other plans for Chinn , well they are gonna have to trade some to get skill players.

I was wondering if there are an quality guys blocked by a great player, in any of these organizations they pulled these coaches in from. They got coaches from all over, should be a couple teams are high on but don't have a starting spot.

I have zero idea what the Bengals are doing. Losing Bates, I get it, that price tag is crazy. Bell in multiple ways was better and more important to that defense and they have cap! Mind boggling lmao.

Could be as simple as he wanted to go

guys Chinn is going where he belongs, on the ball as any non idiot coach already knows and as I got poo for saying when Rhule the idiot put him there

hes a playmaker

and he’s not a small dude like…at all, big frame, 10 LBs is all he needs 6’3 230 too small? Since when? I mean a little heavier is ideal but he is a playmaker…Beason and smitty were much further from ideal but you put the talent where it makes an impact, Chinn is that dude, just watch

Trade Chinn? He's one of our best players. He is a chess piece.

I keep seeing people trying to find a position for him to play in our base defense, which we won't even be in the majority of the time!

This team is continuing to build every phase of this team.  Offense, defense, special teams.

Our defensive coordinator is going to love wrecking havoc to opposing offenses, forcing them to account for where Chinn is.

The talent and flexibility this defense has is getting more and more impressive.

It's great to have 2 good safeties, and I'm excited to see our defense to take another step or two towards being elite.

You should have another go at that first paragraph if you want to try and make sense.

He isn't 230

Did you just skim over the whole 10 LBs is all he needs part literally right before I put 230 for some reason?

It is not that hard for 25 year old athlete with a 6’3 frame to put on 10lbs of mostly muscle. And you certainly don’t get rid of a playmaker due to 10lbs.

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
