Stroud or Young?

  1. 1. Who Do You Want As Our Franchise QB?

Acidentally voted Bryce but I meant Stroud. It'll likely remain Stroud.

I don't think Bryce will be bad, I just think he's a lighter QB who's playstyle is gonna naturally put him at risk for more hits. I'm also not convinced improvisational QB play isn't on a downswing, and it's way more likely for a shorter QB to want to roll the pocket.

Oh thought that was Quinn Ewers.

Realizing the gif/meme thing is just a wonky have-fun type spiel, you can proceed.

There's too many here taking this Stroud/Young mess too seriously. So, I might as well joke around even if I'm the only one finding it funny.

I would have said Young before we ever traded for the number 1 pick, and I still think he can be great, but over time I've come to think Stroud is the pick to make. I just think he tics so many boxes of what you want in a prototypical QB, and I think he could end up being special. But so many guys have looked the part prior to stepping on an NFL field, so what the heck do I (or anyone else) know? Let's hope it turns out. I won't be disappointed if we take Young either, to be fair. Either way, it's exciting times for Panthers fans, and that's got a value all its own. So, I'm just happy that there's this buzz of hope and excitement around the team due to the #1 pick and all the coaching changes, etc. It might sink like the Titanic (I don't think so), but what a glorious ship to view while it's still in port.

Young or AR I can live with.

The draft is the easy part. It's owning things years from now that will hurt feelings. If we take Young we need Stroud to be mid at best. Same with Richardson. And vice versa. Do not get it twisted. There will be Panthers fans looking at these other QB's for many many months to come. Hell who knows Levis could be alright. The league can be strange.

I think of all the teams with high draft picks looking for a QB right now, our coaching staff gives a rookie the best chance to become a franchise guy.

I'm giving you the side eye for this remark though considering you've been doing your best Rippadon impression spamming the same joke about us taking randoms with #1 because more folks have liked Stroud than your boy.

    • Lol. The Texans are literally one of Bryce's six career NFL wins. WTF are you talking about?
    • Yeah, I mean it is a statistical fact and also part of literally a player evaluation. Winston has literally lost dozens of games in his NFL career due to crippling TO's. It's just who he is. Look, it's fun when those insane throws work and he is leading you back from some crazy deficit. But those success are rare. It's why his career GWD count is so low. He's fun but he is fundamentally built to lose games.  If you are talking about a backup QB, you are literally already losing in the first place. That's how you see a backup QB and that's overwhelmingly what they tend to do. Rookie QB's almost always benefit from veteran QB's. Same as literally any other position in the NFL. Why do you think that you so often hear that from the playera themselves? As for Bryce NEEDING one, no he sure as poo shouldn't this late in the game. But he also shouldn't have needed this fuging long to get his fuging footwork straightened out either. Yet here we are.
    • Comfortability is the primary reason. They don't want to hurt Bryce's confidence. But I say if his confidence is that fragile that healthy competition which makes everyone better is enough for them to keep making Andy Dalton rich then Bryce was never going to be the guy anyway. Give me the QB who sees the competition amongst his peers and uses it to take it to the next level. Instead we get the guy who comes out looking like a deer in the headlights against the Texans after we've done everything possible to appease him. Definition of complacency.
