It would be nice to be a playoff team this year, but that is secondary to me to ensuring we get this rookie QB right and do right by him and the team long term.

Yeah but the division is winnable.  That is the reason for optimism.

Winning the NFC south is our best way to make the playoffs. On paper it seems both Falcons and Bucs have regressed while the Saints and Panthers have improved.  At this point it seems to be a two team race.  Of course it's March 30th and we're 5 months from the season starting, so disregard everything I just said
