Cam needs to understand these coaches and GMs generally don’t like backup QBs with huge personalities. He needs to stop making vids like these and he’s in no position to have options. I hope a team in a stable situation with signs him.

Why? No one will accept he is a new quite Cam just because he stays quite on social media anyway. Might as well use the platform to get his message out.

This put pressure on the teams with bad backup situations as they can no longer run the "he just want to start" or he is looking for starter money" narrative. I think it is a smart move.

Supporting Watson on the other hand is not exactly a smart way to increase your market value. So the video might be a wash due to that. I know I just lost a lot of respect for him hearing it.

Names I don't see...

Patrick Mahomes
Joe Burrow
Justin Herbert
Trevor Lawrence
Russell Wilson
Jalen Hurts
Dak Prescott
Daniel Jones
Matt Stafford
Kyler Murray

Kinda curious why 🤔

Hurts he did name.

If we had gotten Watson I think the team was going to try sign Cam again. I remember the rumors at the time but didn't realize they were friends. That would have been an easy way for the FO to soften the controversy a bit.

But poor dude fr. First time I've ever seen a positive player get blacklisted for being too big of a locker room influence.

I know that above all else teams want to win and if they felt like Cam would help them win they would sign him tomorrow.  I really don't think it is has to do with personality or anything else I really just think they don't see him being a player that will lead them to wins.  I really cannot believe he does not have a reality show already.  His personality would do well in this type of venture.  He could also be a shot in the arm for the XFL if he were to go there.

The message here isn't "I'm willing to be a backup". It's "I'm willing to be a backup on my terms for certain teams only", which conversely sends the message "I'm not willing to be a backup for teams I didn't name".

The problem is nobody's thinking about him.

By his own statement, his phone hasn't rung since he threw at Auburn's pro day. So he's in sort of a Catch 22 situation now.

If he does nothing, nobody's calling.

If he does something to try and draw attention, perhaps he gets a negative reaction but nobody was calling anyway.

So what do you do?

This is the kind of thing I talk about whenever somebody says they hope Player X signs with a team where he'll get a ring.

Teams don't care about helping Player X get a ring. They care about winning.

I feel like Cam has gone about this all wrong.

I feel like in the context of his football future, Cam doesn’t have great people around him.

Cam is late to the party over and over.  And he still maintains a too big of a lead dog persona.  He would be great for a young QB in reality.  Saw that here when he returned with a no nothing staff.  But I think it so fair to worry he would overshadow a young QB too much in the locker room.

and make no mistake.  With a yard to go.  Cam Newton is still the best option in all the NFL.    So if it was just about could this guy on talent alone help someone win….he would have a job just for that role alone.

Hmm, hire a competent sports agent who has a long record of knowing how to effectively/successfully communicate with team decision makers and is capable of showcasing Cam in his best possible light?

The way Cam is currently going about this, he's his own worst enemy.

Reminds me of a FSBO sign in front of a multi-million dollar home that has seen better days.

    • He talks way too much about his time in Seattle and Russell Wilson and how they built that team in 2012.   I won’t fall for any of it until I see them play for a year
    • Lol people like you are so silly and the only reason I seem to care to log on to post these days. How can you sit there and say Bryce was the reason Williams hurt his knee on that play. Maybe it's because you dislike Bryce so you are somewhat blind as to what actually happened? Not quite sure but maybe you should get your eyes checked. Williams hurt himself by trying to make a cut after spinning around to make that catch. Pause it at 3:24. Had he landed and ran like normal instead of going to plant his foot in the ground and make a cut he doesn't get hurt. Don't put that on Bryce. That was 100% Williams fault he got injured
