I didn't see a topic on this ( or a post in another thread )

 

I thought this was pretty insightful as far as what is being said around these pro days and the combine. Youngs processing vs Stroud in rhythm are two points that stuck out to me : 

 

 

 

Side note : Smitty needs to lose his cohost and bring on James Palmer or someone with more charisma and knowledge. Steve is great but he needs the guy on other side to play off of.

I think you could see on the co-hosts' face that he fears he's about to be replaced.

Great watch in all honesty. 

Great to hear how all in Steve has gotten into this whole process. 

Liked the part where Steve talked about the difference between being a leader and an Alpha dog, and admitted he was not a leader when he played and only knew how to be an A-Hole to "Lead". Good growth from Smitty on a personal level.

I really liked Steve Smiths skills and admired him as a WR but I am not sure I would have liked being his teammate as a fellow WR.

What's funny is back when he played he would probably think you were the problem. These days I think he'd tend to agree with you.

Analyst Smitty is actually pretty good, has mellowed out, and is entertaining. I'm enjoying his post playing career. He also really has a knack for scouting WRs - He labeled Kupp as the best of their draft class.

Yeah lots of great stuff in this episode. Perception vs reality, Jalen Carter stuff. 

 

Feeling more and more confident that Young is the pick. The praise here was high.

      What do you grade this draft?

      Ask me in five years whether this draft class was good or not. Having said that, I'll grade the 2019 draft... R1 P16: Brian Burns - I'll argue this was a good pick. At the minimum, he was worth enough to have gotten a seriously good offer of picks which, in retrospect, we should've taken. But we still got something for him and his new team gave him a ton of money. R2 P37: Greg Little - Utter and complete flop. Only real value was somehow getting a 7th rounder from the Dolphins. R3 R100: Will Grier  - Played godawful the rare times he was on the field. Somehow still in the league. R4 P115: Christian Miller - Nothing of note. R5 P154: Jordan Scarlett - I don't think he even lasted two years. R6 P212: Dennis Daley - Some flashes of promise but we eventually traded him for some picks. Was terrible in Tennessee. I'll consider this a success since we got picks back. R7 P237: Terry Godwin - Did not last here long at all.  In summary, we got one quality starter... who is now gone. Daley might've been the second best player of this class and he was a middling backup at best. Burns saved this class from being a complete disaster.  D+

      If you're going to bring up the Burns trade you have to include the players we were able to sign with the money we saved by trading Burns.  We got three positions of need with the money we saved by trading him.
