Hall of Famer Bill Parcells on Bryce Young's Size: 'He Better Walk on Water'

It has been done.  Doug Flutie was not as good as Young.  He had a 12-year NFL career.

He was 5'10"  180lbs.

When watching film on Bryce Young his quickness of movement really stood out to me.

His quick twist and the way he moves his feet in the pocket should be a positive for avoiding and taking hard hits,

Any concerns on him standing on his toes or hopping in the air to get throws off? That kinda stuff no one brings up on film reviews for some reason

Go do a deep dive on his stats and honestly tell me of you think this is a positive comp for a 1st round pick, much less a #1 overall pick. If we're being honest, no one remembers Doug Flutie's name as an NFL QB if he's 6'3" 220. We'd still remember the Miracle in Miami at Boston College, but the NFL? Nah. His best two seasons, Buffalo was a very good rushing offense and a pretty sorry passing offense. When he went 10-5 in '99 the Bills had the #2 defense in points allowed in the NFL.

If Doug Flutie is your argument... oh wee mayne.

Right, the outdated model for QB evals which is the only reason Parcells gets summoned yearly any more.

  • Be a three-year starter
  • Be a senior in college
  • Graduate from college
  • Start 30 games
  • Win 23 games
  • Post a 2-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio
  • Complete at least 60% of passes thrown

So, Parcells says do not draft Joey B, T-Law, Allen or some rando named Mahomes. Also Bryce I guess.

Actually JT o’Sullivan talks about that in his most recent video and praises it. If you think he is doing that “to look over the line” … then you are falling for misinformation.

here is another great video that discusses his footwork in detail as well

That video is not selling me on his drop back timing/arm strength issues at all but thanks. I know he could scramble in college vs guys that won't start in the NFL
