Cool interview. Some notes

- Gives a little more detail on the visit with Mingo. Him and Morgan were just overall really impressed with how he generally carried himself and the presence he maintained in the conversation. Apparently Mingo likes to fish and ride horses. Maybe Luke and him can go fishing sometime, lol.

- Liked DJ Johnsons motor off the edge

- Likes the receiver room right now and sounds really impressed with Marshall in OTAs, said something about coaches coming in to him and being surprised at how good Marshall was (presumably OTAs is the first time any of the new staff has gotten on the field with them). Also mentions Shenault as "really coming on".

- When the fact we didn't draft a TE's brought up, he brought up Tremble and how young he is, and how young he was coming out. Sounds like we might be planning to keep developing Tremble behind Hurst.

-Likes the UDFA class as a whole and thinks 5-6 might push for a roster spot. Talked a little bit about Eku Leota specifically

All sounds great, I'll believe the TMJ and Tremble when I see it though, sounds like typical spring coach/gm speak, they're never going to sit there and say "our players suck and we need better ones" and they're always going to talk up those guys that people know are in make or break seasons.

I fully expect the TMJ talk to continue all summer long too and through camp, that happens every year with that type of player, anyone remember David Gettis?  According to the staff and reporters, guy was a spring through summer monster who disappeared come Week 1.

I think the only way Shi makes this team is by another guy getting injured.

The minute we signed Damiere Byrd again the writing was on the wall.  Byrd is a better receiver and returner.

Also don't have to worry about Byrd off the field. I don't care about weed but the gun and speeding was stupid

Gettis actually had a pretty promising rookie season, then he blew his ACL and was out of the league shortly after.

Why do we keep hearing about how close Nicole Tepper is to certain players. It was tough on Nicole trading DJ Moore? It’s fugging weird.

Who do you think she wants to sleep with? Young athletic players, or fuging Tepper. You know he’s cucking in the corner.

Yep.. We did have 4 or 5 on the list that can compete for a spot..

Leota

Redman

Rejohnze

Bumper and People’s..

I was actually kinda surprised to hear Tremble's age. Dude is still very, very young. He had to have been barely 20 when he was drafted.

This.

Probably 1/3 or more of the TEs drafted this year are older than Tremble.

Love seeing the bit about Tremble.

Thought he had potential, but was far from a finished product. After seeing us bypass one of the deepest and most talented TE classes of late, made me think that this coaching staff sees something. At least push it out a year with Hurst here and see what they have with Tremble.

We know Reich likes his TEs to be able to block and T2 is well balanced .

He's got all the physical tools, he definitely seemed very young on the mic'd up stuff. The TE room last year overall seemed like zero pressure to succeed or take their jobs seriously so hopefully Brown will scare them straight

Why? We have fans still attached at the hip to Cam Newton. You don't think owners are fans?

Richardson's favorites led to Gettlemen getting fired. Owners are very close to some players

I really wanna see the new staff use Laviska on some down the field routes instead of the stupid orbit motion pass McAdoo only used him for last year. Dude is a nightmare for DB's to try and consistently tackle.

    • Right. But you do understand that there is no such thing as not signing free agents, right? That's what I mean. So make some good free agency moves and do well in the draft. That's step one. If you can't accomplish that, then this will just keep getting worse.
    • Sweet jebus this is idiotic Yes, overall team success in this league, you need a good QB, but beyond just that painfully obvious fact, let's get into the rest of the stupid in there......... First things first, you say.. "if we need a good QB for him to have success, then why are you drafting that player with the #1 pick" Show me one time I've ever said we would need a good QB for T-Mac himself to have success... you can't, because I never have.  I think you're referring to the "he's bad enough that we then have a Top 5 pick to target a QB" part of my post, which is very clearly talking about said QB, not T-Mac.  The other way to interpret that is just overall team success, which again, wouldn't be anything about T-Mac or his ability to impact the offense or overall team wins and losses. I'm quite sure I could do this with a number of teams over the years, but I don't want to spend the time to do multiple, so I'll keep it to just the 2023 Vikings right now since you wanted to use Jefferson as your example....... The Vikings went 3-6 after Cousins went down last year.  And two of those wins came before Jefferson even came back from his own injury, they were 1-4 in the final 5 weeks after Jefferson came back. In those 5 games, Jefferson had 31 catches, 503 yards, and 2 TDs Having the WR you specifically called out didn't help them go better than 1-4 with a bad QB, even though he still put up a great stat line for that time period either.  It also didn't make that QB good enough to where they then went out and brought in TWO new QB's this year to replace Doubs and Mullens who started down the stretch for them last year. And that's with 4th year Jefferson, not a rookie that T-Mac would be If you expect a WR getting drafted #1 overall to be the player to turn a franchise as bad as we are around in 1 season, make whatever QB we're able to put in there be successful, and lead us to a solid season, then you are literally insane. We are AWFUL, we have a few young guys who could turn into great players, but we are so far from being a good team, that there isn't any player we could draft next year that is going to change that in 2025.
