Panthers signing Yannick Ngakoue?

To me, the kiss of death for a defensive player is a "hot and cold" or "questionable" motor.  When I have heard that, they almost always bust.  When I hear that a player has a "non-stop" motor, they often are overachievers.  At DE/Edge, you better go hard on every play.

Panther fans were notorious for saying Peppers was lazy before he was traded

Some people said Peppers had a questionable motor, but I think that was mostly because he was such a talented athletic freak people couldn’t understand why he didn’t get a sack on literally every play.

Let's be honest. To this day all of his clout basically goes back to that one time when he hit that Michigan RB really hard. Without that one highlight reel he'd just be another underperforming high NFL draft pick who's hype fizzled and became an afterthought.

they also trash Burns frequently. Saints and Falcons fans only wish they could hate the Panthers as much as Panthers fans

Whats the rush?  Doesn't look like any teams are hurrying to sign any of these guys.  We've basically got 3 FA EDGE's that stand out to me.  Leonard Floyd, Clowney and Ngakoue.  I would wager that one of these dudes will be a Panther in the next few weeks/months.

If the Panthers decide on signing one of the three, Leonard Floyd,  Clowney or Ngakoue, I just hope they have done their homework and  sign the one that will fit the teams defensive scheme the best.

the Huddle has always had more Brady and Brees fans than Peppers and Burns fans

And just how would one go about quantifying such a hypothetical statement?

A public poll?

The ol Huddle eye test?

Rock, paper scissors, lizard, Spock?

Clooney got the kiss of death. Overdrafted, bad team and bad luck with injuries. He was gifted but a myriad of circumstances (some within his control and some not) have stunted his career. Honestly between the two new rookies that bull Rush run stopper across from Burns spot might be ok.

He's not the one making the claim. Burden for that falls to you.

I’m sure he appreciates you taking up for him.

Look at comments in the Burns threads over the last 5 months (particularly the one in December). Negatives outweigh the positives by a mile. As for Pep, do the same in 2009. The sentiments only got more negative as time passed. Stances softened when Pep came back, but that doesn’t erase years of “only tries when he wants”.

I didn't take up for anyone, just responded to a comment. And I fail to see how negative comments about Burns, whether truly negative or only perceived as negative, equate to fandom of Brady and/or Brees.

Here's the problem: I can share with you numerous posts across multiple accounts singing their praises, but you're just going to say, "Well, they're good players, of course they'd say that," so there's absolutely no use in my linking all these posts dating back to 2013. One thing I would not do if I were you, though, is deny their existence.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
