Wow. That kinda sucks, but I guess we'll get used to it. I guess kickers will have to learn to kick the ball out of bounds to make teams go more than 75 yards. Hell, I don't know.

I like this change personally.  Now I can confidently take a break from the game after every score without having to peak back at the kickoff...and then go back to the commercial break.  Knowing that it isn't being returned will save me some effort.

I mean kickoffs have been neutered for several years, might as well finish them off. I personally wish every kickoff had to be an onside kick or a touchback starts on the 40. Get us some NBA scores in the NFL.

Might as well get rid of kicks entirely and change the name of the game to Passball. The National Passball League. 4th down? Elect to give the ball to the other team whatever the average of a current punt is. 50 yards away or whatever.

then the team gets the ball at the 40 .

Kicking to an up man or learning to kick a ball that can't be handled is the new challenge.

kickoff returns were getting rarer anyways. kickers were kicking a lot of touchbacks. more than half the league is kicking a touchback more than 60% of the time and that number had been growing ever since they moved the line from the 30 to the 35 back in 2011 or whenever it was.
