Canes vs Panthers ECF Game 4

Boy this team sure sucked a fat one in the ECF......................again.

I just don’t agree.  We lost this series by 4 goals. Our boys were hit, punched, and kicked and they kept fighting. They continued to show grit and determination.  I know the history, and trust me I’m pissed at the situation, but this team didn’t suck.

I don’t think so. Got swept by what, 4 goals collectively. Would a healthy Svech and patches move the needle in this series? I say maybe. The burden of blame falls on the front office. 10 million in cap space for Poolparry and Ghost is a gross reality in hindsight. Big changes needed in the off-season. See y’all in October.

I agree, this team played hard and through a lot of adversity in this series and lost by one goal each game with almost every ticky tack call going against them, all the injuries, playing two guys who were or would have been in the AHL (Mac and Drury) if we were healthy....nah I am not down on the team at all.

Ghost was pretty bad in the ECF, he doesn't deserve to get a big $$$ contract but he will it just won't be from us.  Pool Party doesn't know what he's supposed to be, I think Edmonton fugged him up.  I think he needs to learn to play some good D with his size and be a third liner with some scoring potential.  He looked lost in our "system."

Patches and Svech and good health for our other players would have made this series different.  Just bad luck!

Every game was a 1 goal loss. Florida’s season is going to end exactly like it did in 1996. Vegas is a much stronger team. Bobrovsky finally showed the goalie I always thought he was and gave up 3 goals tonight. Have fun with that Florida, you aren’t winning the Stanley cup.

Hope Bettman slips and falls on the ice. Fuging dickhead.

Like I said it’s obvious they want a Vegas Florida series. What they don’t expect is Vegas is going to wipe the floor with them. I highly expect rod to wipe the floor with the NHL next season. Aho maybe off bettmen himself.

Changes have to be made in the offseason, I don’t see Dundon being patient much longer.

A.K.A. Rod has to be forced to fire Daniels.

Yes Rod has to fire Daniels. We are also at the point of Rod`s career where he cant be clingy to certain players and realize where we have to make moves at.

Bottom line: Every fanbase but one has this feeling every season. For some teams' fans, this despair starts sinking in around January. I don't miss those days!

Yeah, we're all pissed! But, we made it damn near to June before feeling this way. Our team staved it off longer than all but 2 others.

Twas a hell of a season boys and girls!

Nah Im not happy about the season. We didnt exceed expectations. We were supposed to win the Cup. We all knew this for over a year. Waddell not helping the team out at the TDL sunk us. Bottom line. We have had 4 years of prior evidence of what happens to us in the playoffs. We run into a series where we cant score and the other team is more physical than us and not afraid to be because we cant score on the powerplay and we may lose 1 or 2 more guys because of it. Then we exit. Yet we did nothing to help the team and it happened again.

I ain’t watching a single second of the cup. The NHL wants to manipulate poo. Do a better job. That was clearly goaltender interference.

And I said if cheer for Vegas but fug that poo. Even my hockey hating lady said that was obviously between the legs.

The hurricanes absolutely do not suck. They suck in the eastern conference finals for some reason though

if this team had a top 8 power play they’d be in the mix for the cup every year

Sounds like a Jeff Daniels thing to me.

The pp sucked with Svech healthy and has for a long time. You cannot tell me a PP with the skill of Svech, turbo, Aho, Jarvis, necas, etc. should be scoring at less than a 20% clip.

They literally need to hire a power play expert coach. The canes power play is like embarrassingly bad

    • Not sure if they are happy but realize they can’t upgrade everything this year and are content with the group
    • Bryce among the 7 players Mark Ross of NFL.com guarantees will get better this season. Today, I am identifying seven players who I guarantee will improve on their 2024 output in the 2025 season. Young took tremendous strides in 2024 after returning to the starting lineup in Week 8 following his benching. He looked far more comfortable in his return and produced with consistency, as he threw for 2,104 yards with 15 TDs and six INTs in the final 10 contests. Most important perhaps is Young's confidence grew immensely down the stretch, leading Carolina to either a game-tying or game-winning drive in six of those games. Now he enters his second season in Dave Canales' system with his best supporting cast to date. The Panthers drafted wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall to pair with Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette, who I also believe is poised for a breakout campaign this fall. The 18th-ranked rushing attack from a year ago added Rico Dowdle to complement Chuba Hubbard, giving the team a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. The Panthers have taken the necessary steps to ensure Young's third season will be the best of his career, and now it's up to him to not only continue to grow as a player but prove why he was worthy of being taken No. 1 overall in 2023. I believe that's what he will do. https://www.nfl.com/news/which-nfl-players-will-improve-in-2025-c-j-stroud-deebo-samuel-among-guaranteed-risers
    • While it's fair to question how impactful a player's relationship with a coach is (especially if someone has questions regarding said coach), it's important to also evaluate the difference between the players here. Jordan Fuller was pick #199 in the 6th round while Justin Simmons was #98 in the 3rd round. Jordan Fuller might have gotten a Super Bowl ring while he was with the Rams, but he got it while on the IR. Justin Simmons, on the other hand, is a x2 Pro-Bowler (2020, 2023), x4 second-team All-Pro (2019, 2021 - 2023), and was the NFL co-leader in INTs (2022). Simmons has also fallen off in the last couple of seasons though, grade-wise. He very well might not be that same player, which could be why the Falcons have elected to replace him with Fuller. As far as getting the best out of what he has, asking him to produce with a starting DL of A'Shawn Robinson (63.56% of the defense's snaps), LaBryan Ray (51.48%), and Shy Tuttle (50.08%) isn't reasonable. Wonnum only played in 8 games, but had the second most % of snaps (37.27%) at EDGE behind Clowney (53.53%). The second-string DL based on snap % was... and don't read this if you just ate... Charles Harris (34.48%), DeShawn Williams (27.67%), and Nick Thurman (19.7%). The second-string EDGEs based on snap count would be DJ Johnson (32.27%) and Cam Gill (18.14%). With the investments made in the run defense this season though, especially on the defensive line, it's more than fair to demand a complete turn around from last season.
