At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?

Oooof

Geez, this is an awful thread and full of terrible takes. Funny, in a sad way since this trade fuged up the team, how so many people were so positive about the trade and Young and have now joined us on the dark side or reality.

Don’t go to page 9, it’s a doozy, lol.

Only a few of you will overreact like that. I mean y'all have been doing it since the beginning. Why would that change?

The rest know that he'll have some down moments, but the good ones will far outweigh the bad. We know he won't be perfect, but you know what? We happen to be excited anyways.

All I can say is it would suck to be on the side of the fence that isn't excited and is all glum about it.

And btw.....I would absolutely do the trade again and twice on Tuesday.

We swung for the fences and I fully believe we knocked it out of the park. Prove me wrong.

Still like the effort. We just got the wrong guy in the wrong situation....which may be that we got a guy in which there is no good situation.

meanwhile we got a guy who is going to make this team one of the best in the league for years and win us multiple superbowls.

Sorry @rayzor but damn.

Personally, I wasn’t against the trade but I wanted Fitterer gone with Rhule and wanted to tank for a rookie QB trading Burns and probably Moore (GB offered their 2023 1st). I thought we might not take the worst QB prospect and trade up without the ammo in hand.

The trade in a vacuum may have been OK but not trading Burns and taking a QB that didn’t have NFL level skills turned it into a poo show where we go 2-17 and bench the QB we took #1.

I have some posts in here, but had to re register after this thread, not sure when.

Each post by stratocatter is me. I had different devices and somehow couldn't get a password reset.

It is pretty easy to figure out. stratocatter to strato.

I doubt I could tell you the better pick or who wouldn't make it in the NFL between two really similar NFL prototype prospects, because it is not easy. I didn't know Stroud would be THAT good that quick.

Bryce, that was easy. College vs NFL is a real thing. He is not NFL. That's enough to judge him on, you can stop there and save yourself some time because nothing else matters if you don't have that athleticism.

The thing is I'll never apologize for feeling optimistic. There are so few moments that I can feel good about being a Panthers fan so I try to take advantage of those moments when I can....which is before the realities of the season show up.

Still better than never feeling good about it. I'm use to being disappointed so when it happens I'm not looking for a cliff to jump off. I've been there before a lot so it just rolls off my back like water on a duck.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
