Can Bryce Young lead Panthers to a deep playoff run?

Panthers have 60 mil in cap room for 2024, and 6 picks, including a 2nd and 3rd rounder, which, if the team is as bad many expect it to be, will be, essentially, a late 1st and a late 2nd rounder. Yeah, no first rounder sucks, but, still a lot of talent can be added.

There was a lot of speculation that the Falcons would trade up for a QB, especially before the Panthers traded up. I was opposed any  trade up and particularly to drafting Young, just because I don't think he can take the hits an NFL QB gets during a season. Early returns aren't great, but you can say that about almost every rookie QB that takes the field. Way too early to say what will happen in the next two-three years.

chinn, luvu and burns need to be resigned with brown on the heels, our cap is going to be poo again

You have to take into account fitt can’t draft for poo and most prized free agents wouldn’t touch this franchise with a ten foot pole. Hope I’m wrong but we’ll see

Somehow Fitterer still has some believers here as strange as it sounds. Guess some folks enjoy not having a winning season.

Still situation isn't as hopeless as some seem to think. Fitt might get it right, the new coaches might actually make a difference in the drafting, and money talks in FA.

There were legit reasons to take Bryce number one. If he develops, the rest of it can be worked out.

Its amazing that a falcons fan has more optimism for us than we do

Well, we’re getting into the part of the year where the rubber meets the road. The preseason is over, the kinks are supposed to be worked out.
They have had, under the old system, 4 preseason games and the opener. 5 games. No one ever really know what to think of teams after the opener. Division winners sometimes lose big week one. The true identity of a team emerges in the next few weeks.
In our case, so far, the team looks really bad offensively and decent defensively but lost key players. Overall, based on the little we have to go on I believe they fall short of last year’s team.

Consider it entertainment, because I don’t know what else we are going to get out of it.  Dalton, this week. Damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. That is sort of entertaining.

Yep all the cap space in the world won’t get FA to sign with us if we end the year as sorry as we have been the last 4 years.

Bryce kind of reminds me of the first time I had sex. First I was very excited and had such promising results practicing before I went pro. My fans were expecting a lot. 2nd When the game started I had some issues finding the correct open receiver and got flagged for throwing to an ineligible receiver. 3rd I looked pretty promising for the first couple of plays but then the stumble however I scored my first TD but it happened so quickly. I still had 3 quarters to go but my heart wasn't in it. The coach pulled me and put my backup in.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
