Panthers: Beyoncé put on a much better show at Bank of America Stadium on Wednesday than Bryce Young did Saturday. Fortunately, Beyoncé wasn't behind the Carolina offensive line. The group that was supposed to be a strength never gave Young a chance to develop any rhythm in his preseason debut. The top pick of the draft was hammered by a Jets defender on two of his first three throws and sacked before he could get off a final attempt. So he was hit three of the seven times he dropped back to pass. The pressure came from the outside against left tackle Ikem Ekwonu, last year's first-round pick, and the inside against the guards trying to replace Austin Corbett (physically unable to perform list). Young was a respectable 4-for-6 for 21 yards, but was 0-for-2 with a sack on third down. The third-down passes, both on sideline routes, were uncatchable. he forgot to say the refs should have flagged the Jets for laying out Young! Been a 1 5 Yard penalty. protect the QB right! only when its good for the NFL

I got hyped leading up to this game and his performance, along with the line, left every disappointed for game one. 

Lol, pooing my posts because you’re obviously still a salty Stroud guy that will probably never give Young any credit? At least our guy didn’t throw amateur hour INT while staring down a receiver then proceed to see nothing. Young got hammered and kept WAY more composure.

Bryce looked fine for preseason game 1. 

He went through some progressions. He threw with anticipation a couple of times (even though once, he was too good and his receiver didn't break it off at the sticks like he should have. Was a good throw and decision, just a receiver not understanding the situation). He hung in with pressure and delivered, he hung in with pressure and sailed one slightly down the sideline. Not a bad day, not a good day, just a decent performance with what he was asked to do.

He wasn't asked to do a ton. He didn't do a ton. Nothing more or less than that to make of it, tbh.

Vanilla scheme, going through motions, didn't do anything bad but nothing good either. Lot on the receivers. Line doesnt seem as bad as everyone is saying. They run a strange scheme on defense its hard to match up against no matter whos playing. Just gotta give time. Even if we 2-2 in october itll be fine. Just stay healthy. Hopefully shi smith is fine.

Ughh my poo of your post has nothing to do with Stroud or Young. Swing and a miss. I’ll give credit to any player when they deserve it. I’m not a hater. I’ve also said in the thread about “have we given Young too much for his plate”‘or whatever that Young didn’t look overwhelmed at all and trust he can handle more. But that doesn’t fit your narrative so just ignore that.

So you pooed my Frankie Luvu post which had nothing to do with that for fun? Or because you got in your feelings? You were one of the HEAVY pro stroud guys and since now you can’t FULLY be anti Bryce, you’ll try throwing these half jabs and get defensive. Own it. I saw a small qb that’s been critiqued from the jump, get destroyed blind side, multiple times, and get back up. His mental processing and offensive command was on display even if the numbers obviously don’t show it. Once that oline is sured up, he’ll flourish.

You've been around the Huddle long enough to know better than that.  If we are 2-2 making the turn into October, the entire coaching staff and front office should be fired.  Everybody that can be traded, should be.  Everybody that can't be traded should be cut.  We'll probably even have some north end of a southbound horse saying we shouldn't have fired The Process.

And that is 2-2.  I don't even want to think about a 1-3 start.

So you are picking to remember bits of what I have written in the past and dismiss the other bits. 

To be clear I have never been fully anti Bryce. My questions around him were always, and will always be his size. I worry that at his weight he will have a hard time taking hits over the years compared to some bigger guys. I never questioned his leadership, his talent, his mental makeup, none of it. The most you could say I have ever critiqued any part of his game is that he has an NFL average to below average arm. 

I have also been very clear in my posting history to note that I feel like anyone who we drafted was going to have success here. We have talent along the line, at WR, at TE and at RB. Its the most complete unit we have had on an offensive unit in some time here. We also have majorly experienced coaches. All the recipes are there for our young QB to succeed. 

If Bryce balls out, I will say he balled out. If he sucks I will say he sucks. And anything in between. I am sure he will flourish here. I'm not some hater who cropped up recently on this message board I have been around a long time and been honest in what I see for as long as I can remember here. I have no need to get defensive or be a homer about a specific player. I'm also a Florida Gator fan and I never let that get in the way of how I project these kids to be as pros which is why I never pitched for us to draft Kyle Trask despite him having the greatest passing single season in Gator history. 

As far as pooing, I believe pooing is stupid and I only ever use it in one scenario: I poo the guys who poo me. Its a message board. Just type your thought process and have a dialogue. I just click the dude who poo'd my post, go to their most recent post and click poo and chuckle.

      ^I want that, but Rodriguez over KC. Don't hate KC as much at that spot, but rather take a WR with the pick we gain in that trade than in the 1st.

      I think there is good points in this thread to what the team needs to do. 1) Ball isn't really the issue but, he needs reigned in.  Coach and he need to realize when things aren't falling from the three and learn to play other facets of the game.  He's an amazing talent and when he's on, he's on.  But he can also shoot you out of a game.  We're lucky Miami went that way but that is too many missed threes.  He still needs to bulk up if he can, but he needs to drive more.  He's pretty good at finishing usually and hopefully the fouls come (probably not though).   2) The whole team needs to be more physical.  As others have stated, we need more bulk in our bigs.  Diabate is a hurricane of energy but cannot go against the larger centers.  I love him on the team but he should be more of a match up type guy or energy off the bench.  I think he'd be insane off the bench.  However I think the biggest issue with Diabate and Kaulk is the lack of offensive game.  The lack of a jump shot or anything.  Teams figured out to just leave them on the screen and crash lanes.  There has to be some sort of threat.  We need a 4 and a 5 that can do those things and stretch out the court. 3) Bridges.  He's just undersized.  However, I feel he really threw his all into it the last few weeks when others were gassed.  He was ok not being a focal point.  I'd like to have him off the bench as well but I assume he'd be traded to make things work.  4) Miller.  Dude can light it up when on, but disappears for quarters at a time.  Also he needs to work on ball handling and passing.  He's a turnover machine at bad times.  Also hopefully over the injury so he can bulk up too.   5) Kon. Just a rookie.  Long season and back injury.  I have no doubt he'll be back stronger and focused.  Needs to work on defense and physicality like the whole team but yes, a rookie he'll get there. 6) Coby.  Has to be resigned, no question.  The bench lineup is rough without him running the point.  Team has big potential and the front office seems sharp.  They seen the hive and how crazy it got and how much the city wants this.
