The team wasn't depending on Chark, were just hoping he'd be a part of the mix. Calm down.

What? He was our number one receiver for crying out loud.

What has been separated as fiction from fact is that we are not nearly as talented as we thought that we were. At this point in the season, you are who you are. You're not going to find much production off of the waiver wire and you're not going to find much production on someone elses practice squad.

We all need to accept that we aren't going to be very good this year and we won't have a first round pick next year to get better.

Chark, Thielen, and a bunch of unproven guys and/or rookies in that WR room... they absolutely are depending on Chark.

Yeah, that was the worst take I've heard in a while, other than the guys who thought we would be a playoff team. Or perhaps that Ickey had proven he is a franchise left tackle.

Lot of fanboys here who are just hot take after hot take.

The irony is strong in this one.

If our coaching staff is one of the best in the league as advertised, they should be able to maximize what we got. No need to panic and spend a ton of money.  It is a hamstring not an ACL or Achilles tendon.  Should be back in September unless it is really bad and he is a slow healer.

Or that teams who don't win in preseason never make the playoffs or that UDFAs are wiffs?

Man I don't know what being a true fan is anymore.

1 game away from making the playoffs last season. Following season it's unrealistic to make the playoffs.smh

I mean why did we make a HC change? Why did we trade for the #1 pick?

Maybe you just have low expectations...

Pay no attention to him. He has been butt hurt since we drafted Young. It’s sad really, hoping fir your team to struggle because they didn’t draft the guy you wanted. He and @CPantherKinghave some of the worst takes you will see on here.

I understand that conventional wisdom suggests rookie QBs will struggle and not to expect much but like you said we finished last year just out of playoffs at 7-10  with Wilks going 6-6.  We were a tough out with Darnold going 4-2 even without a full coaching staff.  How do we go backwards with supposedly one of the best coaching staff in the league, upgrades at many positions and supposedly an easier schedule.  Seems to me we should go 9-8 at the least even if we start off slow.

Yeah I agree. Some people just don't think we have enough to compete for whatever reason. Im looking at this division and if we can't compete with these teams then the season was a failure imo. We don't take a step forward and take 2 steps back the following year. Like you said we upgraded the coaching staff and the QB position. There is no excuses.

We did a rebuild.  It’s not about taking a step forward from something that no longer exists.

We got all a new scheme to learn and figure out.  And it will take time for this staff to find the ideal personnel to fit the new schemes.  And we got a rookie QB.   Literally every skill position starter is new.  New coaches.

We have a allstar coaching staff. Wilks had to put in a new system and he did it with a lesser talented QB.

This is not some hard task. Im holding the coaching staff accountable we hired them to get better as a team. Im expecting a better team than what we had under Wilks. The purpose of us not hiring Wilks was Frank was the better coach.

Taking steps back just because we changed the system is not a good excuse. This division is up for grabs there is no clear cut favorite to win the division. Im expecting playoffs.

We don’t have an all star coaching staff.  Frank is a Ron/Fox.  Who was just fired for his inability to get it done and specifically the O he called.  Which he is calling here.  And Capers and Caldwell are old heads.  We got a tremendous amount of years and experience on staff.  But a lot of that narrative was just built off having so many old guys. We got an exciting young DC whose 1 year featured him inherited a top 10 D.  That’s not an all star staff.  The rest of the league would be the comparison not Rhule’s squad.

Wilks didn’t install a new system.   He is a DC.  He kept McAdoo.  He just dictated what McAdoo would call going forward vs what he did.

and building something new isn’t easy with old parts.  It doesn’t happen overnight  Nor is winning in general for any rookie QB.

    • One thing about it, he's not thinking about retiring. I found it odd that some Huddlers were taking rumors and running with them, imagining a slow down and "up-playing" injuries. Moton feels great and is still in his prime according to him, and his game is still indicative of his thoughts.  Sure, it may ultimately come down to economics, but I am sure that everyone involved is motivated to keep him in Charlotte.
    • I think the knee stuff with Moton has been blown way out of proportion. The exact quote was “It’s chronic stuff. Most linemen deal with it. But it’s just figuring out what we can do to make sure it’s limited and I’m still able to explode off it, which right now I can and I feel like I can in the future,” After a while, you start learning more about it and what can we do to make sure it’s as little of an issue as possible. I feel like I’m moving like I was when I was younger.” I don't view that as a guy who's saying his knees are on their last leg I see that as a 10-year NFL olineman saying that obviously after 10 years of playing a really physical sport, he's never truly gonna be 100% healthy again and he's gonna need to spend more time with the training staff to ensure his body can continue to perform at a high level. I think Moton has another 3 to 5 years left if he wants to continue playing.
    • So much crying. Tiresome. All of you should have had enough time to come to terms with the team picking up his 5th year...
