I love how people just assume you can pick and choose which draft you will have the ability to choose a franchise QB.

The last 4 drafts have produced 15 QBs that will start week one. So getting a possible franchise QB happens in nearly every draft.

I'll just take a moment here to say damn that touchdown pass to Theilen looked good 😁

I can't wait to see the offense they plan to run. This vanilla crap is tough to watch them try to get open so that Bryce has someone to throw to.  The running game should help with that.

Are they all franchise QBs? I assume you must be in the crowd of thinking that just because of outliers like Tom Brady you can just get a franchise QB whenever you please. Brock Purdy is in that list of QBs you mentioned. I suppose we can just make Mr. Irrelevant a good QB whenever we want because that’s definitely how things work. It’s so easy to get QBs up and down the draft, how’s Corral working out? Will Grier? Tony Pike? Jimmy Clausen? Do we need to keep going?

No, what you were talking about is trying to get Maye or Williams, as if we could just hire a HC and attract a decent staff and ask them to tank. Or do you believe it’s every year the team picking #1 with a legit #1 QB available would trade the pick? You’re either a troll or just ignorant.

He's both.

I clearly stated getting a POSSIBLE franchise QB. Why do we need the #1 pick to get a franchise QB? Maybe you are the ignorant one?

And for the record.... I've not once said I didn't like Bryce, or didn't think he could be our franchise QB. In my opinion I thought we should have kept DJ, traded down in the draft to acquire more picks. With those picks we could have gotten a few possible starters and built depth. Then we go after our franchise QB.

Once they get the Oline fixed and if the WR Corp can stay on their feet....then yes, he is the right guy.

I agree.  The biggest problem I see is the offense line.  Even a GOAT cannot perform if he doesn’t have the time.

You may have to throw Will Grier out here as he looked pretty good and pretty developed last night. Night and day to where he was. It takes a special person to make a starting NFL QB and then even more special to be good at it but unfortunately we have not had good coaching to develop a QB and looks like Grier could be one who slipped through the cracks because of piss poor unskilled coaching that could not develop anything or anyone pertaining to an NFL team.

Or we could have traded down and drafted a bunch of crap. How many late round guys have we hit on?

Look at this since Rhule was here, we have hit on our 1st guy I guess and only really one 2nd rounder in Chinn, the rest are jags.

He was playing against nobodies, Grier is a journeyman, not a franchise QB. He played a full game against one of the worst teams in the league, it was also the guys that are going to be cut from said shitty team, running vanilla plays.

    • This draft is 2023 all over again, it's not hard to see. QB's who don't grade out as high first round prospects while at the same time, the following draft class looks to be loaded with elite QB prospects. Drafting a QB just because you need one (or making a bad trade to make said draft pick), when there isn't one worthy of that draft pick, is how you ruin franchises, just look at us right now.
    • I upgraded to the S24+ a few weeks back. Very happy with it.
    • LOL... Yet again proving you can't look below anything than what you see on the surface Mock drafts ARE NOT draft grades They are what people think will happen.  They are mocking teams taking QB's in the top 5 of the draft because that's just historically how drafts go regardless of the grades on the QBs.  Almost every draft expert, even those mocking QB's going high, have said time and time again that none of these QB's actually grade out as those type of picks. This is again, where I say you don't like to actually read what I have to say, because I already explained it. 2022 the exact same thing happened, mock drafts had guys like Pickett and Willis going in the Top 5 because that's just what teams usually do, but GM's listened to their prospect grades and knew they weren't worth taking that high, so they didn't. It's not to say QB's won't go that high this year, but it's to say that they aren't graded out as elite QB prospects.   And yes, I've never said I'm not a T-Mac homer. But me being that doesn't change that he will be the highest graded offensive player in this year's draft, at a position we haven't been able to solve since we lost Smitty.  Taking him makes all the sense in the world, my bias aside.
