Coaching MATTERS… DJ Moore is being misused… gives me hope for Bryce

Players still have to play.  Evero looks great cause we have the players on D.  Not sure Brown would have any different outcome than what we are seeing now on offense.  We don't have the players.

Not call 10 WR screens to our least athletic WR.  Not run Sanders directly up the middle over and over again to the strength of their defense with 2 backup OGs playing.  Not having several WRs all clumped together on the same route within 3-5 yards of each other.  We don't have the players to be an elite offense, but we should at least run a competent one.  TMJ was a 2nd rounder, Mingo was pick 39, Chark has the tools to stretch a defense and has caught plenty of TDs, Thielen is a solid possession WR, Hurst is average at best, and Sanders is a decent back.  A good OC will find a way to generate some sort of offense.  For example use Shenault on the screens to try to get the ball in his hands several times in a game as he is our most explosive weapon.  Test the defense deep with Chark on several plays (we did it once and drew PI) to open up the running lanes.

It's not a good look when player like White thinks a WR is being used wrong.   I mean he definitely has a front row seat and no reason to make that comment.

He’s basically on pace for his career averages. But his catch rate and first down rate are up significantly over years past. The only other thing they could be doing is just feeding him even more.

The routes and concepts he’s running has him open. The QB needs to get him the ball more.

Justin Fields is a dogshit passer, playing in a Mickey Mouse, dogshit system.  What does he expect?

Bears already David Carr'd him.   Broke him.  That's the danger of putting a rookie in a spot early where there isn't the talent to legitimately develop him.

because Fields has wide open dudes right in front of his face at this point.  He can't see and do it.  He has gotten worse since entering the league.

This is the sad truth.  The QB School break downs on his play thus far have been eye opening.  He has definitely not progressed at all, and seems to have regressed actually.

Ummm...we allegedly have an All-Star coaching staff surrounding him. Coaching isn't the problem. We also traded away next years first round pick, which coincidentally goes to the Bears.

So guess what? The Bears may be getting two top 5 picks, they can offload Fields for a decent pick as well, they will fire their staff, get a new staff, and get the chance at Drake Maye, Caleb Williams, and Marvin Harrison Jr. with an offensive minded coach and a great core of guys that can win pretty much right away.

We gifted the Bears the potential to have a dominant decade, if they play their cards right.

The Bears are following Matt Rhule's 7-year plan to the letter.

Can't believe we traded our only legit weapon on offense.smh

We honestly should have kept Moore and traded up to the #3 pick. We could have walked away with Stroud or AR and still have Moore.

Please Bryce Young don't let us regret this trade. It's not looking good so far.

There's also a possibility we could have moved to 3 and still gotten BY. Too many variables in the draft day scenario.

It's gonna be even worse in April when Chicago has the first pick in the draft and drafts Williams or Maye.

This is exactly the reason Poles loaded up on draft capital. He wasn't sold on this year's QB class. So, give Fields a chance to prove himself.  Doesn't hurt Bears also  took Carolina's best weapon and hope rookie QB struggles with inferior weapons. If things don't work out for Fields, they will hopefully be looking at two high picks in a nice QB class.

A class with elite top end talent like Marvin Harrison Jr, too.

You were the biggest Bryce Young fanboy in the internet. Have you given up on him after his first 2 games?

Well, they may have got it right with the trade down. No QB in this draft was a "can't miss prospect" except for Anthony Richardson. The Bears played the situation perfectly and if they keep losing, they will be in a position of envy this time next year.

Personally, I feel like Young would be better suited to a Josh McDaniels type offense as he is said to have many of the same tangible attributes of a Brady or Manning minus the height.

I've also said this before but I don't trust Reich. He had one of the most talented teams in the league in Indianapolis and couldn't get it right. Good coaches don't get fired mid-season and Tepper fell for the "aw shucks, I'm an offensive guy" dog and pony show.

Would've been better off keeping Wilks and allowing him to build his own staff. He could've probably hired Reich as OC if he wanted. But I'd imagine Wilks wouldn't have been in favor of trading up for a QB either because, you know, he's a smart guy.
