I would be fine if he was getting worked into a rotation here and there but no way should he be starting.  Eventually he may be starter quality but that remains to be seen. 

I get Byron Bell vibes right now with Zavala. Not in terms of talent but in terms of situation.  I actually felt bad for Bell because they consistently put the guy in a position where he was called to do more than what he is capable of.

Wilson, Darnold. Carr (the first one) there's tons of others as well. The list of qb's that were ruined as rookies because of seeing ghosts is pretty dang long.

I usually agree with you but when you pay money, you want to see someone capable of a downfield play 

I hate to be brutally honest, but right now, that does not appear to be Young   Doesn’t matter the reason 

there is no harm in him sitting until that oline is not putrid either or, I should say, a better degree of putrid or Reich learns having a fullback or TE in the backfield  isn’t a bad play either.  For god’s sake, we have 4 TEs right 

Reich also has Chubba and Blackshear…god forbid he use them

I honestly thought it was smart player management not to throw Bryce back out there on the road to Seattle on a short week. With the way the OL played I honestly don't think it would've gone well at all.

Yea with how long he's been holding the ball so far, probably would've been 15-16 qb hits instead of the 9 or 10 that Dalton got. I just don't see how you can play him til the line is healthy

Some of them actually just don’t have what it takes. Burrow’s OL was awful, Stafford’s OL was bad, Lawrence is making it as a day 1 starter, Cam did, Luck did with a bad OL. Stroud is progressing with a bad OL.

Dalton looking good while taking a beating. 

Some guys take hits and keep going while others response is to spiral out. At some point you are just delaying the inevitable. The list of guys who could take big hits, deliver the ball and keep going most days look like the QBs that have the longest shelf-life. The Panthers do not look to have gone that rout and they are going to have to come to grips with it sooner than later. I get this last game but the next one is going to get to 'get on with it territory' if he is a healthy non-start. You can keep sneaking it with Dalton but Young is going to have to get in there and figure out how to deal with it because this isn't college or Philly. The pipedream of building the perfect roster next year is destroyed by the reality of how fast the NFL changes and how unpredictable it can be.

Same problem he had last year before they started giving him help. Speed, his feet aren't fast enough. 

 

He gets killed against speed and if he doesn't have help, he's gonna get beat or have to step early.

 

It also looks like teams are purposefully moving their speed rushers to his side against us as well.

And yeah I think he was right around 160 yards at the half.  

Would love to see Bryce get past this sprain and make something happen this weekend.  We all want this to work out, really hope he gets something going.  It's the Vikes.  Jefferson and Addison could go bezerk, but just give us some offense please. 

I think the ankle sprain was real, but if he had to play he could have.  A short week on the road and a hostile place like Seattle as a rookie was safer to sit.  If it had been a full week at home, I think he plays.  I expect him for the Vikes.
