It's a misery factory and it's only going to get worse for the next two years.

It may, but misery loves company. Take an extended break, but don't leave forever. It just wouldn't seem right to transfer loyalties to another team, as there's no history there. We've had too many people leave supposedly for good, and not just because the team has  sucked for the better part of the last decade.

It's still too much, if we're paying Jeudy $13 million next year, on top of having Thielen and Mingo, we're not going to be able to afford paying for another WR who is better than Jeudy to be our #1, and Jeudy is NOT a #1.

Depends on if we get Burns or not. If we don’t we could pay Brown, lock up $45M in WR group, and still have money left over since Bryce is cheap. Remember Chark is on a 1 year

I’m sure the plan would be to negotiate a contract extension that would convert most of his 2024 salary into a bonus. That’s assuming the Broncos don’t take on some of what he’s owed which they may.

There would still be enough money to go after Higgins in the off-season and keep Theilen and Mingo around.

WR1 - Higgins/Mingo

WR2 - Jeudy/TMJ

Slot - Theilen/Ihmir S-M (return duties)

That’s likely a ~#10-15 WR room in 2024 if we can swing it. We’re currently ~#32. That would certainly help give Bryce options. Higgins’s stock right now is at its lowest. Some rough drops + struggling offense + injury should knock his asking price down.

Was always going to be a "ham sandwich" type of deal. I would have preferred the Panthers spend essentially no draft capital for the slight chance that Claypool works out.

One of these WRs was just acquired for a ham sandwich the other is supposedly worth a 2nd and a 4th. Can you figure out who to pay extra draft capital for?

A guy who has admitted to being lazy is not someone I want to risk it for, especially with a new coaching staff trying to establish their systems.

Jonathan Jones is reporting we likely won’t trade unless it’s a phenomenal deal.

Phenomenal deal for us or for the other team? We have had plenty of the latter lately. Bears are extremely happy. 49ers are over the moon happy. Jets were ecstatic with their haul. Jax was happy to get a day 2 for their failed draft pick.

    • I mean, he's a professional athlete.  What you think as a fan vs what he should think as a player are completely different.  Being bad doesn't mean you should lack confidence in yourself, and really that is true in all forms of life.  Do everything you want to do with confidence. Justin Fields sucks, but does he ever play like someone who doesn't believe in his own abilities?   Obviously you need more than confidence to be a high-level NFL player, and Bryce will never be that.  But he could still create 2-3 extra plays a game if he allowed himself to play more "free" like he did in the second half of last season.  The fact he refuses to use his legs to pick up yards nowadays hurts this team.  Simple things like that would go a long way for us, even if not for him.
    • I've always thought it odd that the QB is the only guy in the roster who carries a record. If a RB puts up 1200 yards but the team sucks then everyone still says the RB had a good year. If a QB puts up good numbers put the D is atrocious and the win loss record isn't great due to that then the narrative is that the QB can't win. Now that we're finding a way to win with suddenly dominant D and dominate running game people are trying to shift to this "Bryce is just a winner" narrative while he puts up bottom of the league numbers while near the top of the league in turnovers. It's just funny to watch.
