Calling it - the Bryce Young trade is the worst in team history

Doubt the Bears would have agreed to that and I'm not even sure you can do those trades in the NFL like you can in the NBA.  I think if you could, we'd see them happen more often, and I don't think I've ever seen it done.  They can do it based on a player being traded and then how many snaps they play or how far your team makes it in the playoffs, but I've never seen an NFL pick traded with Top X protections like the NBA does.

Thanks. I've seen it done but I was mistaken in that I thought all professional leagues could do it.

To be clear, I'm not saying they definitely can't, but just that I don't ever remember seeing it done, which makes me think you can't do it or we'd have seen it before.

My son there’s a few rumors circulating on campus, I take it with a grain of salt, but hell who knows… with Chicago on the clock, I’m sure Trubiskeys name will certainly come up.

He certainly doesn’t need the money or he would be playing for Bama. Like you said, with the NIL anything is possible.

I heard his NIL deal is easily top 10 in country and is currently in the 2.5 to 5 million range. Just some speculation I’ve see from UNc social media people.

these top guys trying to get rich don’t have to leave for the pros asap like they used to.

Think it's way too early to call this, but if he ends up being a below average QB (think it would take three seasons to determine that). Then I agree with you.

I'm not giving up yet, Bryce doesn't look lost out there he just needs better protection and WR play before I believe we can judge him.

That being said I was a Stroud guy from April of 2022, that's who I have always wanted so it's hard to see him doing so well

Hats off to the young man for what he's done to this point. He's simply destroyed any of the pre-draft foolishness about him as a player and a person. Not to mention he has put the credibility and relevancy of the S2 to shame. He's a great story for the league.

He would have been our QB if Tepper would have kept his nose out of it.

No way Reich and co. wanted to eliminate half of their playbook by drafting Young, I dont care how good his processing was supposed to be.

my very first gut  reaction to everyone around me & even on the huddle was that I did not like the fact that we or let's say the Carolina Panthers traded up to the #1 spot in the d8aft.& one or you can only imagine how that went... without saying

This is a bad trade but not because Bryce isn’t the #1 pick it’s because we’re not a QB away from the playoffs like we were told.  We’re not the 49ers who truly were and could still muster competitive season even when their trade up for Trey Lance was a total bust.

Bryce Young will not bust but it was stupid to trade away his #1 receiver and next year’s first when it’s going to be another top 5 pick. That’s why it’s a bad trade and it would be a bad trade even if  Stroud was the pick. Stroud in this offense may have mustered a 1-4 record instead of 0-6.

I was so against that trade. My position was there was no one worth that price in that draft. I may have been wrong on Stroud but it is early.

Once it was done, you have to pick the best one. I was Stroud and after that anybody but Young.  Just did not want to watch him play in the NFL.

He can’t play the standard NFL game so it is all this dink and dunk crap. I hate watching it.

    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
    • I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking?    I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued.
