Stop and think about this one...............

Tepper is a billionaire hedge fund manager right?........so that's big time money with big time risk that if successful gives you a big time brass ball ego. 

So now he buys an NFL franchise..........anyone knows like the purchase of a stock market index fund that if you buy an NFL franchise it doesn't matter how well it performs on a yearly basis because in the long run like an index fund it will make you money.  In fact in the NFL your "index fund" doesn't even have to perform ever and it will still net you significant investment gains. 

The only problem is owning an index fund......like owning the Panthers is that it is not a very sexy investment when compared to the potential high flying performance of other investments or in this case playoff caliber teams. 

But its a gimme to make money as an NFL owner no matter what your team does...........the only problem is you ego is deflated big time for the world to see in the process of having an under performing team.

And its a proven fact that success with an NFL team can actually stunt your revenue if you can't keep that high flying performance on a consistent basis.........

So the real question is........

.......does Tepper love money more than his ego?..............or does he love his ego more than his money?

      Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.

      As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.

      Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
