Can't hurt IMO. Feel like it'll be one of those "trades" we've seen lately where a team gets Hardman and a 7th round pick in exchange for a 6th round pick. Wouldn't be surprised to see Fitt bring him in, might bring some speed to the WR corps.

Lol another non factor WR.

Guys we need a true #1 WR. Stop with these #2 and #3 WRs. We already have that on the roster.

We need a #2 as well so if you can find a really good deal for one I'm good with pouncing.  That being said, Hardman is on an expiring contract so pass, he'll be there in the offseason if you really like him.

There aren’t any #1’s out there available outside of Higgins, who might not even be available until the offseason

I brought this up in a thread a week or two ago since they weren’t using him at all, his speed along would be valuable as we don’t have anyone like that right now.

I’d trade TMJ for him straight up

Yes. Yes it can. It has hurt for the past decade. Fitt will over pay for that practice squad caliber player.

I don't think Fitt has overpaid when it comes to vet acquisitions. Draft trades? 100%. But his vet moves aren't that bad:

Stephon Gilmore: sent a 6th round pick that was 2 years out, even though we didn't resign him didn't really send anything of value for him.

CJ Henderson: a 3rd and Dan Arnold for a guy who was one-year removed from being a top 10 pick and a 5th; a gamble that didn't work but not horrendous. Looking at our prior 3rd round draft picks over the past 5 years, Henderson arguably better than all of them anyway

Baker Mayfield: 2024 5th round pick which was recouped when we sent out Dennis Daley to the Titans for a 2024 5th

Laviska Shenault: 2023 7th round pick, 2024 6th round pick; I actually think Shenault is worth more than that and should be used more creatively. We basically got these picks back in the Robbie Chosen trade.

What about Darnold? Why skip that little dousey? 🙂 Henderson hasn't panned out that well so again, over paid.

Ah yes, definitely forgot Darnold, that was a very bad one. I guess I mean more of these "margin" FA moves (a CB here, a WR there), I don't think they're that bad. Henderson has been a JAG but like I said it's not like we know who to draft in the 3rd round anyway.

I don't think Fitt is a good GM but I also don't think he's going to trade a 3rd round pick to the Jets for Mecole Hardman. It'll either be a swap of underpeforming players (TMJ for Hardman) or a 7th round type deal. Marginal, re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic type move.

I guess you think that WR1s just fall off of trees. We need to improve. If we can get a legit receiver on a deal--basically a value acquisition, then I'm in. That being said, I don't think Hardman moves the needle.

    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
