Brian Burns statline: 2 tackles, 0 sacks

I don't think people realize we might lose Burns for nothing.

Assuming he still has a market, who is going to trade a 1st and give him a new contract?

It has to be a team on the verge of being legit contenders to make the kind of move. Lions seem like the most probable team imo. Even then they have to really love Burns to make that kind of move.

Would they trade st brown for him? Ignore the fact that we could have just drafted him instead of tmj

I'd be curious to see the advanced pass rush analytics on him from this game, but I have no idea where to find that stuff.

Definitely saw him affect Tua on multiple plays, sometimes you just don't get home, especially against the best offense in football right now.

Having said that, he's unfortunately for himself proven he's not deserving of Bosa money like he wanted, which if anything I think makes it more likely a team will give up good assets to get him, they think they'll be able to sign him for less than he originally wanted.

He's still an elite pass rusher, but like everything else with this team, I'm sure we're not using him correctly and putting him on a team with better players, particularly at DB, it will unlock him and he'll go nuts.

Phins also out 2 starters today on the OL.  Including the LT who Burns saw

As an App State alum, seeing Burns get held from having a sack by a former UDFA from App State just makes me smile. MFer wants $30M but is easily game planned against, like today

    • Just worry about it next year.  Its that simple honestly.  its way to early to do what ifs.  I could see us trade/cut chuba and retain dowdle, I could see them let dowdle walk and go with Chuba/Etienne and Brooks, and I could see Dowdle and Chuba both stay and see what happens.  Hell, we still have 6 games left THIS season plus possible post-season...what if Rico or Chuba have an ACL tear or severe injury.  I DO NOT want that to happen, but stuff like that does happen.  Remember RB is the most injury prone position in the NFL due to the beating their bodies take so having some extra guys is never bad, just wish it hadn't come at the cost we paid to get him.
    • I think it’s cool that no one can be really certain what the outcome will be.  That’s a lot of progress! This is a real opportunity for us, I’d be happy with a competitive game and thrilled if we sack up for a W.
    • I could never found out who did the first surgery. That failed.      Nor who did the recent one.    Yiu can’t count on anything involving him. If it happens it’s a windfall at this point.
