Then that's not a first overall pick.

Have you asked yourself where this point guard talk came about? It's a nice way of saying game manager. Has anyone ever held the top pick and told the world all they seek with it is a game manager?

Tepper and his yes men are bumbling idiots.

Tepper wants sycophants, it makes him feel important.

It’s like people are surprised we got blown out despite predicting it.

With a balanced attack Bryce looked as comfortable as ever.  They need to keep finding that balance-hard to do against the best offense in the league.

Bryce still has a ways to go finding out what works in this league.  Him checking into a screen on a needed 1st down was not great, as well as trusting players to get a 1st when throwing behind the lines.

He did show some nice pocket movement, but still hasn’t figured out just how quick nfl players are.

They wanted a point guard, they got a point guard.  In the right offense, Bryce could be very good.  In an offense that's about taking shots down field and going vertical versus horizontal...he'll bust.

Which means when you play teams with elite offenses (mostly the top teams) and you cant keep up or come back from being down. We are still screwed.

My comp would be Ty Detmer in his two seasons with Philly.  Not a horrible QB and very serviceable, but not your franchise QB.

Yea I wasn't trying to compare him to a specific QB in terms of style of play or ability, more just his role in the NFL universe.

I think he'll end up being that guy that teams try to sign when they have a rookie they want to sit for a season or if they're in that middle ground of not bad enough to want to punt on the season but not good enough to be true contenders.

I just don't think he has the prerequisite physical tools to succeed outside of a Dolphins or Niners type situation.

He doesn’t, but fans will be fans and block out the obvious. I bought some of the hype in preseason but have since sold it. He’s a very limited physical specimen and not an elite NFL talent. The Teppers sold the farm for an average at best QB.

Reich and Fitterer must go.

The Tua comp makes sense on the surface but Tua's YPA is basically twice what Bryce Young's is and that has to change regardless of all extenuating circumstances.

It is NOW. Wasn’t the case early on. It improved when the situation around him did.

I was thinking more like Jeff Garcia in his Pro Bowl years as a floor. He was seemed less gimmicky than Flutie but still had the "I-can't-believe-this-dude-is-in-the-NFL" stature that Bryce will always have.

Maybe because he is throwing to Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle and Bryce is throwing to Adam Thielen and DJ Chark, with one of the best offensive minds in football designing and calling plays

    • I know it's only been training camp and one preseason game, but I think T-Mac has already shown his floor to be exactly what I said about him in the pre-draft process. That his floor if he never improves his game, is as one of the best #2 WRs in the NFL, if not even still a low end #1 (i.e. a 25th-ish best WR in the league). I think it's safe to say he's already established himself as our #1, and there are only a small handful of teams in the league where I don't think he'd be their starting #2 WR in Week 1. Bengals (Higgins), Dolphins (Waddle), Eagles (Smith), Bucs (Godwin if healthy), Rams (Adams) are really the only teams where I think he'd be the #3 as a rookie in Week 1.  A few others like the Lions (Williams), Bears (Odunze), Seahawks (Kupp), Commanders (Deebo), where he'd be the 2b to start the season, just because they're vets and/or already have a year or two of experience with their team/QB. And even having said that, I think by year 2, he's better than every one of those players (And no, I'm not saying he's already going to be better than a prime version of Adams, just whatever he'll be at 33 next year), and same goes for Kupp, but that's more because it seems like his body might be quitting on him in a way that hasn't happened to Adams (yet).
    • Well to be fair, Horn not practicing right now to let his stitches heal up from a car accident isn't something that should be concerning.  Sure, you don't want him missing practice leading into the season, but it's one that once healed, won't have lingering affects or fear of re-injuring it, it was just bad luck.
    • Quality backups are absolutely important. This franchise has been plagued with depth problems. That said, there is a little bit of dismay that Mays can't beat out a 1-legged man, and all the talk going into the off-season was how BC would certainly be gone since he had position versatility.  In the end, it doesn't matter too awfully much, as I would be shocked to no end if Corbett makes it through the season. We know what we have in reserve, and that should surely be better than trying to sign random fat guys mid season to try and take over.
