I don’t see the harm in it, honestly. Just like Reddit: sometimes you go to the safe space reddits to just … enjoy the thing… and other times you wade into more negative waters to see if you can have an actual discussion. Not always successful but that’s the idea if folks feel like this place is overrun with negativity.

I don't care for it personally. I would rather have honest football discussion, good bad or indifferent but that's a little hard to get right now.

If it's just a single place to drop off some positive thoughts that's probably helpful for people to lift their spirits as a break. There are other threads for banter that goes off for pages about one particular issue or other derailed thoughts. It's worth a try if it will help end every other thread from turning into the same positive vs negative free for all.

I think it wouldn't be bad. It gets tiresome reading all the bashing and shots people take that derail threads that do start with good discussion.

Nobody wants a positive vibes threads. If anybody believes that's what folks want then they're incredibly bad at listening (or incredibly good at trolling?).

Folks want to be able to have a good faith discussion about Panthers football and learn something from it without it devolving into posters being accused of working for the team or being a burner account simply because they aren't raging on the Internet. That's it. Unfortunately, when there is anything that isn't incessant bitching it's mocked as "hope."

So... enjoy the threads of incessant bitching I suppose? Was hoping to catch a film review thread but instead we have this.

My question: why have you decided a thread for positive people is needed over negative like the positive posters are the problem? 
 

to be clear, it is great discussion to have people point out both the good and bad. That is needed. But every freaking thread these days is instantly derailed by overly negative posters. For example the qb school was posted and we didn’t even get one page out before it was thrown off. 
 

I guess my line of thinking is you got nobody in here saying stuff like Bryce is looking amazing and do no wrong and can make every throw in the book look easy (positive hyperbole). But you have PLENTY of posters saying Bryce is terrible, a bust, midget, arm is terrible (negative hyperbole). And those are the posts that always derail threads because of course someone is going to defend him when that stuff just isn’t factually accurate. Then it’s a back and forth shouting match. 
 

so why is a “safe space” for positive posters your solution? Is it because you just happen to fall in the other category? That is an honest question because I do not understand or see what you are hoping to accomplish with this.

I think it’s a good idea and disingenuous to speak on behalf of everyone, my man.

This works both ways and there have been plenty of instances of those on that other side accusing people of simply being haters or that they should go root for this team or that team because they haven't fully bought in to the required group think that's being endorsed at that time.

This thread would be a bridge between all that and about positive Panthers news. If people don't want to deal with that they will have every other thread to discuss controversial subjects as much as they would like.

Way too many threads devolve into posters just attacking each other over opposing views. 

There's honestly no many positive only posters left, hence the offer to give them their own thread. Hell, I'd give them their own forum if it was up to me.

The irony of the three posters most likely to poo up a thread being the first three to respond with no attempt at a good faith engagement says all that needs to be said.

The biggest problem, like everywhere in society today, is the extreme positions. People who try to have a balanced view and discussions about the good and the bad gets drowned out immediately. 
 

E.g. Young is making progress is immediately met by “well his deep ball is terrible”. Both are true, but they are not mutually exclusive, and that seems to be the major struggle for a lot of people on this board.
