Honest question:  has any other professional sports organization fired and then re-hired their coaches or front-office like Charlotte has?

Steve Clifford, Marty Hurney, why does this happen?

I honestly don’t know the answer to that but it’s certainly embarrassing that we had to resort to doing that.

Something gotta change, no reason to lose this game tonight. I get rockets shot lights out but the defense was horrible. This on cliff, he is coaching horribly right now. Mark sitting to long, not getting miller involved enough, letting guys play hero ball. This is unacceptabl.

The have enough talent to win on paper and the bonus is Miller being better faster than expected but….something is not clicking fir this team. The coach no doubt is not great. Melo is underwhelming after a max contract. I was concerned because he never came off as being a focused dawg of a player. He just was out there having fun. Miles issues are never ending. I doubt they can trade him for a ham sammich. He is talented but to self destructive to bank on.

Talent is not the problem. It is clear the problem is coaching. We come out with no energy and all of a sudden we are down double digits. That's a coaching problem.

As far as Miles I know a lot of people want to move on, but he is a top 3 player on the team talent wise. I think we have to give him a chance to earn our respect again at least on the court. Off the court I don't think we will ever respect what he did.

I think we just need to start looking a head coaches to replace Clifford. We are likely going to get another lottery pick the way things are going.

It seriously seems to me like Kupchak isn’t even doing anything anymore. Never seen a GM this low key.  Does he even care about this team?

    • Disclaimer:  In June, I am usually optimistic.  In October, a policeman with a bullhorn is telling me that I have a lot of life ahead of me and to think about my loved ones as I gaze down upon him from my rooftop.   Having said that, I think our offense (down the stretch) was good enough to play KC and Philly tough.  So how many games would this offense have won if they played the entire season like they did in November-January and if they had a better defense?   If you could stretch the last nine games over an entire season and put a solid defense on the other side, I see 5 wins becoming 7 or 8.  Down the stretch, the Panther D surrendered 30 points or more in 5 of the final 7 games and managed to win 2 of those 5.  If they can win 40% of games in which their defense surrenders 30 points or more, then the math indicates, had that been the case all season, the Panthers should have won 6 or 7 games with their defense surrendering 30+ points.   This season, we are much better at WR (TMac, Renfrow, Horn, and I expect XL to be a lot better).  Bryce is confident and now a leader.    The Achilles' heel of the 2024 defense, the DL, seems to be very solid.  We got back Horn and Jackson on the corners, Smith-Wade is improving better than expected, we signed a stud Safety.  Derrick Brown returns.  While the D is not there yet, it is going to be better.   So if we ended the second half of 2024 playing at a level that should have produced 6-7 wins, better WRs and a better defense could result in 9 wins or more.
