Schultz over Hurst

I wanted schultz big time, shocked that he only got a 1 year 6.5 deal(dallas tagged him the year before). I did like most of off-season FA signees, but not hurst @ 4year for 30ish. I will say hurst blocks better, but passing wise no contest...

tremble feels like the starter currently.

Hurst might miss the game with his concussion, but Ian Thomas is back.  I hope Thomas doesn't take time away from Tremble as he is my favorite TE on the roster right now.

Coaching coaching coaching

(if we say it three times, does it just start happening effectively?)

This team could bring in prime Don Shula and it wouldn’t matter. There’s nothing  really much you can do to make up for Bryce’s physical disadvantages.

There’s a reason there has only been a few successful QBs under 6ft to play in the NFL.

You mean when you hire a coach that relates really well to young black men and can lead them as well as he led on the field, the players execute and play better? Who would have thought!

Ryans is a slam dunk hire for them and proof you don't need a offensive head coach, just a leader of men and a good game manager.

So the counter is that swapping Young for Stroud (or Levis or Mac Jones or any other QB over 6 ft) is the only difference here? We suck because Bryce is too short and slight and can't throw more than five yards to make better use of Fitt's roster? He's the problem 100%?

Not 100% but you’re in denial if you don’t think it’s a major factor.

What other reason would you give as to why there has hardly been any successful QBs under 6ft in the history of the NFL?

He wasn't the only one reporting this.

Back during pre-draft days, pretty much everyone believed the Texans had Young as their top prospect.

Well...thanks to tipper those fkers dodged a bullet.... Wilson and Murry both have wheels which contributes to their success..

I'd guess the percentage of QBs in NFL history is probably less than 1% and that'd be because of a combination of old school views of who has the body type and who does, so that makes the pool automatically smaller. But if there's been 10 starting QBs under 6 ft and three of them are successful--that's a 30% hit rate, which I suspect is higher than the hit rate of 6ft+ QBs but is an infinitesimal number for all QBs. OTOH, there's also been no successful 7ft QBs either (or any over 6'7" IIRC). If height was a key to success, you'd see taller QBs and we just don't see them. Plus, there's surely no material difference between a 5'11 QB and a 6' one.

I think part of the reason why people are watching Bryce is to see if he changes the conversation on who can play QB for this exact reason. Many are hoping he's like Steph Curry (even though Steph is not that short, but he was very slight) for football. That would significantly expand the pool of potential players, which would only be good for the sport.

If he fails, that'll probably be the end of this experiment.

    • I actually put the money I cashed out on City to win outright. Arsenal just looks completely uninterested.  Which kind of ties into to what their manager has been saying, that they were going to focus on winning the EPL and be less worried about cups and tournaments.
    • Gonna be interesting to watch. All reporting indicates he's gonna be out. From what I'm hearing he's out. The interesting part will be what happens next. The job has been staying within the "family" since Dean retired. But there's no one within the family that makes any sense at all right now. They'll have to go outside the family to hire a coach that's likely to be successful and tension between the school and the basketball family is already high right now with this plot to move the arena to Carolina North because the folks within the basketball family want it to stay at the Dean Dome and they feel misled because they feel like there was never any real consideration of revamping the Dean Dome and this whole evaluation process was just meant to make it look like that was being considered. The best outcome here IMO is that we hire a great coach from outside the family and we revamp the Dean Dome as an olive branch to the family. But the powers that be REALLY want a new arena at Carolina North.
    • yeah outside of 3 shots in a row for arsenal nothing has happened.  I need a quick goal for them and then MC start to press.  Need 2 shots for Arsenal and all 4 still for MC
