The Bryce hate has gotten absurd

What's unfortunate is that he seems like a genuinely good dude, but it's just not translating.

The footwork is a mess.  The accuracy is not there.  He seems really nervous and unsure, afraid to take risks, afraid to make mistakes.  That's without factoring in all of the physical things he cannot change.

You trade the barn for a franchise QB.  A draft's QB1 should not need this much coaching.  And the fact that he does, instantly sinks all the excitement -- Especially because that translatability was what we were sold on that overrode his size limitations.

Anyone catch the Bengals game last night?  See the performance of the backup QB that went undrafted in Jake Browning? Incredible how this guy was chucking the ball all over the place and commanding the offence...

reminded me of Mike white last year and dobbs first vikes game. It all evens out in the end

I am willing to give Bryce until about a quarter through next season before making a final judgement. This year we all see that the team and staff around him are not working and we see he has some flaws that could become his undoing.

Let's see what a off season and a new staff can do. By October next year we will know if he is the guy or not, can't do anything but wait until then.

Just looking at all the teams in the nfl pretty much every single qb in the entire nfl is playing better than Bryce Young.  Late round qbs undrafted qbs backup qbs pretty much every single QB is playing better with the exception being the Jets QBs who are playing pretty similiarly.  That says alot.  I hate to go back to stroud but his 3rd round rookie wr tank dell goes down and he takes another no name backup wr and gives him almost 200 yards in a game.  Great QBs make the oline the wr the rb the entire team better right now Bryce is making the entire team worse. Hopefully it just starts clicking but he really needed a year to sit and learn if he ever does take the leap forward to being a good nfl qb.

He is not a franchise QB. He has to many physical limitations. Try and sugar coat it all you want. He may be a halfway decent starter one day, but you can't built your team around him. Being a decent starter is not what they drafted him for.

This. He looks awful this year but given the investment in him and lack of a 1st rounder this year he's getting another year. So hopefully a new staff and retooled roster can help him get to where he needs to be. But if he doesn't look a whole lot better very early into next season it's gonna be time for the powers that be within the organization to realize we made a massive mistake and it's time to reevaluate the future of the QB position.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
