McDermott reportedly wasn't the biggest fan of Cam

? We got to be honest, Cam played with heart and the fans will always love him but he did NOT have Josh Allen level arm talent or understanding of the game. He always had kind of a slow clunky delivery, and never improved on his progressions. We ran kind of a simple power run/single read system during Cams 3 good years. He had the best defense in the league and a top 5 line those years too, we were essentially the Eagles. Allen’s team is all old and slow.

This has got to be trolling and is the reason people bring Cam up from time to time. Josh Allen needs to go to a Championship, win some playoff games, and stop turning the ball over at an alarming clip before you attempt to troll.

Josh Allen has over 93+ turnovers since coming in the league. Stahhhhp!

Can’t forget about 2017 when at one point his WRs were Clay, Shepard and Bersin…cam still played at an elite level.

It baffles me when Panthers fans want to down play how great Cam was in his prime. They guy played with one elite WR and that was only for his first couple of seasons.

I think the simplification of the offense came from Rivera trying to keep his job rather than develop Cam the right direction which was what Chud was doing his rookie year.

Additionally, I think a lot of people misjudge Cam's mental acumen for the game based on the fact that sometimes the best play is the simplest one with the highest probability of success.

The Panthers ran the ball on first down more than most of the league throughout Ron's tenure here. Which also means we took away his short yard passing attempts. We put Cam into high pressure, 3rd and long situations all the time when the running game didn't work. Most of the time he delivered because he was a baller.

And to be frank it was never Cam's job to play the game like somebody else and satisfy armchair QB's who watch historical stat padders like Drew Brees. I think often times Cam probably thought to himself, "why throw this 4 yard out to Funchess knowing damn well he's gonna drop the ball when I can pick it up myself?"

In 2017/2018 under Turner Cam showed he could do the dink and dunk stuff and pad his stats and percentages. But all of that is really overrated because Teddy Two Gloves was a notorious stat king and he was ass.

Huh ?

I love Cam, the energy he brought to the team. But Cam only had 3 winning seasons in 11 years. We ran a vanilla offense for most of his time with us. He was never part of a top 10 offense bc he was limited as a QB, He was never a pin point accurate QB who could execute precision timing routes from a pocket. We leaned on our run game, and simple reads. He also wasn’t a player who would stick around after hours and grind tape, he had a life outside of football. Josh Allen never leaves the facility and runs Erhardt-Perkins, the most complex offense in the league, Same offense Brady and Manning ran. Cam would not be effective in that offense. This is coming from someone who has paid for his family to meet Cam before. Just very different QBs.

Meh, I don't think I'd go quite that far. Allen is more accurate as a passer but not the runner Cam was.

Statistics tell a different story Josh Allen has a 5.6 YPC to CNs 5.0 higher single season rushing yards at 763 to 748 the only difference is he ran about 20 times less per season.....

He's Cams Equal as a runner and a much better passer.
