Doesn't make any sense. Go out swinging with your best players out there.

Steichen had a very promising first season but on THE pivotal play of the season he made an absolutely baffling lineup decision. I mean, that guy should've just caught the fuging bk but how do you go into 4th and 1 with the season on the line with your best player on the sidelines? Absolutely baffling. It would've been like us running X Clown with Smitty standing beside John Fox.

Given the amount of holes, you can pick about any spot minus safety.

Its going to take time aka years. This draft seems top WR heavy right now.

Plus I feel a healthy chirst and colbert along with bounce back moton, boz, and icky.........they are better than this past year showing.... they must be. Just add some better depth.

My pick is WR, honestly my true pick is BPA/trade alittle backwards for a supreme haul.

Deep QB class, pick best available at 33.

The rookie quarterback CJ Stroud, whom we passed on for Bryce Young, has led his team to its first playoff appearance in five years, and the Texans were arguably the worst team in the NFL only a season before.

What a turnaround! This is what a generational QB can do for a team.

The one true generational QB in the draft, and us at #1, missed on the pick. Depressing.

Why do you think it automatically means anyone wants Bryce to fail? The two things are not mutually exclusive, and that's really the problem with a lot of rose-colored crew in this fan base right now... things are treated as zero-sum, and it's not. It's just the way it appears based on the season at hand.

Based on the way some fans here talk about Bryce, it would be really hard to conclude that they want him to succeed here.

As far as your zero-sum comment, it works both ways. Just because the Panthers passed on Stroud, it doesn’t mean they are “set back for a decade” or other such comments.

Admittedly, Stroud should have absolutely been the pick. Bitching and moaning about the fact the Panthers passed on him and making snide comments about the guy who will, at least, be the Panthers’ QB for one more year accomplishes what exactly? That’s what I don’t get.

I had a few where i was trying to convince myself id be okay with the bryce pick. But most of my takes especially the early ones were spot the fug on

I mean.....its against all the books to pick a QB.... I feel you must give young another half year min. But if some stud QB happened to fall to the 2nd, I could be talked into that*given it will take years for a rebuild. Plus you could flip dalton for a late pick and after some time trade either byce or 33rd for some draft capital.

Zona picked rosen(*i believe they traded up for him too*) 10th overall and next year picked murray 1st overall. washington traded up for RGIII and drafted couz in the 4th. Its not too crazy even thought it feels that way. The issue is watching young play.......but the new HC will come with the promise of "fixing" young.

Bryce, right or wrong, is the tangible personnel evidence of Tepper’s franchise failures

I pray I’m wrong for the franchise, but he sure doesn’t look like he belongs in the NFL, on any level

cmc, DJ, gone, for Minnie Mouse

when a fan goes into each Sunday hoping for participation trophies from a player that cost the franchise dearly, it’s a sad situation…for the player as well

Stroud now has over 4100 passing yards in 15 games. Had he not missed two games due to concussion, Stroud would likely have broken Luck's rookie passing record and become the passing leader for this season.

Not too shabby for a guy who allegedly scored very low on the S2 cognition test.

Had he not missed 2 games he's the MVP of the NFL as a rookie.

We screwed up. Just take the L and watch a generational QB make us look foolish for the foreseeable future.

Bryce Up Son!

    • Interestingly I think we have kind of of gone through this as an organization. Richardson implemented an FO driven tank. Bad roster, no cash spent, coach uninterested. It may have been for different reasons but I think the results were the same. A team that wasn't going to win many if any games. We ended up with the #1 pick. Cam Newton came in and changed the franchise. It worked, but Cam himself pointed to the losing culture in the locker room needing to be changed. It probably took about 2-3 years for that to happen. Tank worked pretty damn well for us. Cam is one of one. Not another like him, everyone can't deliver on his draft status AND change a culture basically on his own.  So as an exercise here are the last 30 #1 picks. If you tanked and got to pick #1 how many of these guys do you think were worth it? Not just good players, but franchise changers. Guys who will take your culture and shift it so the tank was actually worth it. I would say maybe 9 or 10 guys would be worth a tank, pending the last 5 picks?    2025: Cam Ward (Miami (FL)) - Tennessee Titans 2024: Caleb Williams (USC) – Chicago Bears 2023: Bryce Young (Alabama) – Carolina Panthers 2022: Travon Walker (Georgia) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2021: Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2020: Joe Burrow (LSU) – Cincinnati Bengals 2019: Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) – Arizona Cardinals 2018: Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) – Cleveland Browns 2017: Myles Garrett (Texas A&M) – Cleveland Browns 2016: Jared Goff (California) – Los Angeles Rams 2015: Jameis Winston (Florida State) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2014: Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) – Houston Texans 2013: Eric Fisher (Central Michigan) – Kansas City Chiefs 2012: Andrew Luck (Stanford) – Indianapolis Colts 2011: Cam Newton (Auburn) – Carolina Panthers 2010: Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) – St. Louis Rams 2009: Matthew Stafford (Georgia) – Detroit Lions 2008: Jake Long (Michigan) – Miami Dolphins 2007: JaMarcus Russell (LSU) – Oakland Raiders 2006: Mario Williams (North Carolina State) – Houston Texans 2005: Alex Smith (Utah) – San Francisco 49ers 2004: Eli Manning (Mississippi) – San Diego Chargers 2003: Carson Palmer (USC) – Cincinnati Bengals 2002: David Carr (Fresno State) – Houston Texans 2001: Michael Vick (Virginia Tech) – Atlanta Falcons 2000: Courtney Brown (Penn State) – Cleveland Browns 1999: Tim Couch (Kentucky) – Cleveland Browns 1998: Peyton Manning (Tennessee) – Indianapolis Colts 1997: Orlando Pace (Ohio State) – St. Louis Rams 1996: Keyshawn Johnson (USC) – New York Jets 1995: Ki-Jana Carter (Penn State) – Cincinnati Bengals
