So not getting training camp reps as a rookie and being thrust in is meaningless? Rosen wasn’t as bad anyway, had more td’s and won 3 games

Again you didn’t have that as a category in your 1st post..

at some point you’re going to start saying he has to have started in September during a rain storm and had 2 ply toilet paper in his house ..

This is an insane overreaction for a rookie quarterback tbh. He showed plenty of flashes and to act otherwise is silly. He gets at least one to two more years. I don't think any of Young's weapons would start on another team except Thielen who would be a WR2-3, certainly not the best weapon on the team. Offensive line was a mess, play calling was a mess early on. You have to give him time to develop and surround him with some talent. I know it's bad when you mirror it to Stroud, but you have to realize the talent gap between the two teams is pretty wide.

The talent gap is between the two QBs

I think this is the biggest disconnect between the majority of us and the "Bryce Guys". NONE of us think this team is good. NONE. We know the Oline is weak, we know the WRs are weak, we know the HC sucks, we know the OC sucks. But we believe Bryce sucks ... despite all that.

That’s cool.. Your Opinion.. I’m sorry that I can understand that most rookies won’t be able to overcome these obstacles and you don’t…

This is the same thing said about just about all bust QB's. There were barely any flashes at all. Not enough to matter, for sure.

Mostly what he showed is horrible footwork, lack of arm strength and a severe case of David Carr Battered QB syndrome.

Green Bay game had signs of elite qb play and a team and offensive game plan that hadn’t checked out yet.  Since then they checked out

Or it was lightening in a bottle?  What's harder to believe, that Young stunk all year was a fluke and the Packers game was the REAL Bryce, or the rest of season's body or work is more of the tell tail and even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally?  I tend to think the later.

You say this but aleast the majority of 1st round QBs are giving 2 or 3 seasons before getting the bust label.. Not 1 year in a bad organization..

Were you saying this before the season started? Thought the big reason to draft bryce over stroud was because stroud was only good because of the talent around him in college but yet he goes to a team with only 3 wins and was expected to struggle because of no talent but yet takes that team to playoffs.

The Head coach Ryans said himself last night they arent where they are without him but somehow houston is one of the most talented teams in the league all of a sudden. I have never seen a bottom fielding team get so much credit for their roster when only managing a couple wins the last few years. The gymnastics to protect bryce has been over the top all year.

As a team who has seen one of the absolute worst and then one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history, in sequential years, this is one of the more appropriate groups for seeing what promise vs. not cutting it looks like.  I really don't think calling it for what it is, is some overreaction.

There's a level of eye test needing to be passed and Bryce did not cut it this season.  Simple as that.  This was Jake Locker level.

Now sure, I'll give him into next season but holy hell, this was just bad.  I simply can't get over the lack of zip and his footwork.  Not to mention, there are huge detriments that aren't correctable physically, he does not have the arm (I don't know how people can't see this, the zip is not there), and now, he is playing scared 100% of the time.

This is a bad situation.

I know he's a "good kid" or whatever and people WANT him to be good.  But he just wasn't.

He has A LOT to prove in short order.

    • yeah, but the actual jersey Bryce Young is wearing is not the same jersey you are buying from Fanatics.
    • i just feel like i read this he says she says poo all the time over & over again  on the internet  TV  work ,in public & then i think back to myself oh what a sick slandermongering world we live in now. ts just like those National Enquirer magazines you find in the grocery store at the checkout counter which are nothing more than complete & utter BS  & more often than not when you assume something then you make an ASS out of U & ME. so chill &  let the courts do their job & if he is guilty well he is guilty  LOL either or this has nothing at all whatsoever to do with Carolina Panthers football
    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
