IDK, I think it's very debatable if Horn deserves a 5th year option. He is a top 10 pick and the option would be expensive, he has never played a full season as well. I would understand if the FO declines it and just see if he can stay healthy his 4th year. That's a lot of money sitting on IR for the year!

I would be happiest to see him traded this offseason. He is very talented but he also isn't healthy enough and should get no where near 5th year option money until he can play a healthy year or 2. The best ability is availability after all. He has played in 22 games in 3 years so that's 43.1% of the time. Anyone still believing he is worth paying to his physical talent level is about to eat a lot of dead cap on the IR. Take any pick and sign someone who will be a lot more likely to be available on game days is absolutely a better path then waiting for him to have a healthy year which would be an anomaly at this point sadly.

You think all Bryce needs is ... one thing?

No but I also don’t think he needs everything to be perfect around him either..

But every rookie or young QB needs to be able to depend on something..

Agreed, even a practice squad CB that played in a game contributed more than Horn. The good thing is that the new FO will have no emotional ties to him and will make the practical choice.

They tried developing/building and running an offense that was in no one's wheelhouse around a speculative commodity with only a vague idea how it would look left for a lot of individual interpretation from very distinct mindsets with a head coach who was a nice guy, but also fearful of not having control and no clear understanding on how to or ability to run a club where so many strong personalities and presences from diverse backgrounds are present and all of that with a narcissistic owner who wants his two cents put into every discussion and decision while also breathing down the head coach's neck at all times.

Now try reading that massive run on sentence without taking a breath and you have the compexity and chaos of this team in a nutshell.

And that was just the offense.

I read it without stopping.  However, it makes good sense.

Yeah the reason I am so enthusiastic about a new coach is because they aren’t hiring a coach who says no to starting and building around the player that will get them fired.

A guy who claims he won’t tolerate mediocrity mortgages his team’s future to ride with a guy whose ceiling is basically that. I’m excited about the future.

I think they better figure out if Bryce is worth building around first

I’m not sure they know the answer …he needs to start seeing the field…particularly the middle.

…regardless of the QB, build and backfill that line and have high quality depth and get decent wide receivers

honest to god, the panthers are terrible at drafting WRs…get one in free agency

I think you build around the qb.  This coming season will tell if thats Bryce or someone else.  Fix the oline and grab skill positions this offseason and design a cohesive scheme.  If bryce doesnt improve next season then hes not the answer.   As far as free agent wrs there arent many i like for us.  We desperately need to add explosive players to our skill positions.   Higgens or Evans arent that.  You draft fast and quick receivers and stop worrying about size.  We always seem to prioritize size for our receivers and that is an old school mentality.   Fast/quick receivers that dbs respect could go over the top and just focus on creating space for them.  I dont care about having big receivers that dont get seperation to try to throw jump balls to.

I don’t understand how ppl don’t see this..

No matter who’s the QB you don’t want them having to carry a bad Oline, bad receiving threats and bad coaching..

No one is saying that

those things are needed for ANY  pro qb, including those not named Bryce young

my concern is he has clear limitations.  If a pro line is in front of him, it doesn’t need to be tailored for him, it needs to be tailored for the offensive system

he simply needs to execute it

i would say to you as well a pro line  and receivers don’t like carrying a bad qb   I don’t get why people don’t understand that either

This is why I say sign Tyrod Taylor, Jacoby Brissette, or Gardner Minshew.  All are cheap free agents.

Not giving up on Bryce but gotta have a legit starter as the backup.  He needs to be benched when he’s not playing well.

I think the most important is an OL and TE. Feed that fugger all day in the seam. Go 2TE with Tremble, under center, mix in power runs with zone reads.
If it so happens that the OL is holding up well in pass-pro open the playbook up more.

I think we have to have a receiver if not two that can stretch the field.  If the secondary has no fear of a receiver getting behind them then they are always going to be able to jump underneath routes and secondary and linebackers first step can be towards the los to help stop the run.   Youve got to have 1 if not 2 receivers that dbs respect and give space to.
