We really did man. Protecting him with the likes of Byron Bell and Nate Chandler 🤢, drafting him slow ass receivers, pairing him with dumbass Shula, etc. We wasted such a generational talent. In a way, it's kind of poetic that we missed on Stroud, because we would have just ruined him like we did Cam.

What’s poetic is you had a few loud fans that didn’t like Cam, or his personality, only to end up with a boring “supposed” super processor, that is looking like will be a dud. Tepper wanted what they wanted in a QB; a guy that would blend in and cause no controversy at all. I still remember some of those same fans threw a fit when Stroud named his QB influences. I got fooled by Bryce too, after rooting hard for Stroud to start, so I’m not much better I guess lol.

The absolute cognitive dissonance the sports media has with Cam infuriates me to no end. Absolutely embarassing to even mention Kaep when Cam Newton's on the field success has shown so much more than he ever had.

The same sports media that claims Cam Newton isn't a pocket passer - despite a large majority of his snaps being in the pocket! - and then saying bullpoo like this.

Cam created a new paradigm on defense that accounted for running QBs, and was an absolute beast in every way.

Shame on the media for bringing down one of the most polarizing and talented QBs of this generation.

I always thought Kap would have gone deep to the playoffs more often, I’m surprised he seemed to get figured out. Or maybe it was injuries. I know he got blacklisted too but I kept thinking he was going to win one pretty quickly

Kaep was just that bad. He was easy to figure out. He was bad at the throwing the football part.  Harbaugh was just a wizard.

Hell no we ruined Cam.

Dream scenario he ends up in Atlanta as a backup. Starting QB goes down at the end of the season and Cam comes in and lead them to a SB run. He retires with his SB in his hometown.

I'm here for it!

That would make us the only team in the NFC South without a ring. Hell no.

That first game Cam returned is one of the few highlights of the past several years. At least for that week or so, he legitimately galvanized a beleaguered team. That Cardinals team had one of the best records in the league at the time if I recall correctly. Took these few shots as it was it was pretty wild seeing a guy who had joined the team a few days calling rallies mid game. 861DD6CE-3EF9-4328-AE06-119EA31E7685.thumb.jpeg.7de02c5b17e1a1e1a72224cca34897ab.jpeg

My kids first football hero growing up. It was so easy for a kid to love Cam because Cam was so kid friendly from giving footballs to them after touchdowns to hosting his Nickelodeon show. I developed a love for him like a family member. What he meant to my son made him mean the world to me. I miss prime healthy big bad ass strong trucking over defensive guys Cam so very much. Big tough nice guy with a cannon arm that could run like hell and refused to go down easy then would laugh, joke and high five children. He was the hero Charlotte needed but didn't deserve

Fans appreciated and still love Cam. It’s the coaches and front office who didn’t by not building around him starting with offensive line and  better weapons. The fact he carried his team to SB with Ted Ginn as his #1 WR will always be the most underrated QB performance in history.

Yep. This is why I say F**k Rivera. Terrible coach.

I remember when it was on the news that his house caught on fire (no injuries). I looked at my wife and said, "If I were investigating the cause of this fire, I'd start with the diehard Panther fans."

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
