Brandon Beane also worked under a GM that made some stupid decisions. Unless you have first hand knowledge of what were Morgan’s thoughts and decisions behind the scenes vs. Tepper/Fitterer/whoever, then what is the point fretting over it?

If he was there and didn’t have input then why was he there to begin with?  He was at least involved with basically destroying the teams talent base and I am done with that

I’d like to give Dan a shot. He was an all pro MLB and is a smart guy. He’s also life long Panther. He wants to see us succeed.

Theres a ton more cringe level quotes out there but this should do

hard fuging pass

“Bryce is just an impressive individual,” Morgan said, via ESPN’s David Newton. “I think, first and foremost, him off the field—just the kind of person he is, the kind of human being is—really makes you fall in love with the kid. And then obviously, you can see what he does on tape. He’s special. He’s got the pocket presence, he has the poise, he has the accuracy, anticipation. He has all those things you want.”

All those things may mean nothing, though, if there’s no one to share it with. Morgan and the rest of the Panthers front office, however, did some work this offseason to make sure that isn’t the case for the 22-year-old passer.

“And this isn’t Bryce’s show,” he added. “He’s not doing this alone. We’re not dependin’ on him to go out and make every single play. That’s why we brought guys in like [Adam] Thielen and Miles Sanders and DJ Chark and those kind of guys. So, this isn’t something that he has to do alone and it’s not all on his shoulders.”

In addition to those veterans, the Panthers also drafted second-round wideout Jonathan Mingo and fourth-round offensive lineman Chandler Zavala to help Young out. And while the rookie still doesn’t have the greatest of supporting casts, it’s a heck of a lot more than what the last franchise guy got when he started out here.

Dan Morgan is more than “assistant to Fitt”.

If he’s GM, I’m fine with it.

And yes, it’s because I loved him as a player. He was Luke with Horn’s injury luck. He knows a thing or two about the game, and maybe he has his own ideas about roster construction.

None of this means he will be good, but I won’t pretend I know poo about any of these other random suits. And he, unlike Reich, truly has a Panthers legacy.

    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
